Unlocked iPhone able to set on "Automatic?"

So I have been getting "No Network" problems with my 1.1.1 unlocked iPhone and I really do not want to sell it yet so I'm trying all possibilities. If I am running it unlocked for Tmobile, but an AT&T network shows up when I go to the settings, am I able to use that without being charged?

In short, can I set my iPhone to "automatic" setting, instead of selecting just Tmobile without being charged if the phone switches to AT&T signal?

Yes. Set it on automatic. The carriers have roaming agreements. Your phone won't communicate with a network in the us if its not allowed too. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe all T-Mobile national plans have no domestic roaming. I also believe every plan is national with the exclusion of the 3,000 minutes for $49.99.

Something's wrong. You're not supposed to touch this. When you unlock it properly, it should automatically be set to automatic and chose the network based on the sim card inserted at the time.

HH, did you reboot the phone after you sim unlocked it? By reboot I mean hold down the power switch and then sliding it to turn off wait a few secs and then cut it back on.

If you did it right, it should automatically read your TMO sim and display T mobile in the top left where AT&T normally is. That's it. You don't do anything else Network wise.

If you have the 19.99 total internet you're supposed to set your edge settings to

APN: wap.voicestream.com
User: blank
Pass: blank

And that's it

for the 5.99 to work go here

I bought the phone already unlocked by a Tmobile user. He put my sim card it and it had it as something else (he customized it so it reads what he wants it and I've changed it) but if I go into settings and hit networks both Tmobile and ATT show up as networks. Right now I just have it setup on automatic.
