I still have my p910i and am currently using a P990i which works perfectly

I had an unreal amount of issues with my first p990i but i bought a new one a few months ago and have absolutely no issues whatsoever with it

However iv'e been using a p990i for quite some time so i feel its time for a change. I never wanted to get the P1 as it doesnt seem like a true successor to the P990i. It just seems like a smaller much more expensive version with an odd keyboard.

I wouldnt mind testing it out though but the only way thats gonna happen is if i buy one for about €380

Ive recently found on the forums mention of a P5i, If this is really the next offering and not a fan made mockup of what some think the next P series should be i would definitely wait for it and buy it. Real question is if its really going to happen or not. It also seems rather close to the launch of the p1 for another successor already but considering the features of some other phones SE might be better of releasing a new offering

ON the other hand i suppose i could always ditch the P series for now and get N95, im quite torn

Go for a WM6 phone, once you try, you will never go back to Symbian...

no but i dont want a pda. SE's P series has always been exaclty what i wanted in a phone

Then I'd say it's safe to get the P1i, cause everything about the P5i are rumors and photochop pics, nothing official from SE...

There is no point in waiting for the next of anything. If you have a need, get what fits your needs and stick with it. Its not necessary that the next best thing is as advertised (or comes out in the time stipulated -- especially with SE and their P-series).

So, either wait for the "ultimate" phone, "or realize the truth -- that there is no ultimate".

I would wait a month and see what SE announces. There should be several annoucements within the next month.
