Unlocked ATT 8300 - Issues on T-Mobile

I had an 8300 through AT&T. I called them and unlocked it. I then "reset it" using the hard reset function on the phone. I gave it to friend who has T-mobile, but when we put the sim card in and fire it up, it says INVALID SIM.

anyone else had this problem, or any suggestion on how to fix it. I am wondering if the "hard reset" re-locked it or something? My AT&T sim works fine on the phone.

Any help appreciated...

No, resetting a phone doesn't relock it.
Are you 100% sure that it is unlocked.

I called AT&T, got the unlock code from them, and entered it. Is there some command i can type in order to check if it is still locked?

"Invalid SIM" means it's not unlocked. Either that or your buddy's SIM is so old the Blackberry doesn't recognize it. I hesitate to even mention it, but if the SIM is put in wrong you might get this message as well.

Figured it out. I called ATT back, and got the unlock code from them again (they already had it). Re-entered it, and voila, the sim card works fine.

I know for a fact that when I typed it in the first time, while on the phone with AT&T, that it unlocked the phone. She even had me check that menu that shows where it is unlocked.

My only theory can be that when I "reset the phone to default settings", it somehow tripped it back to being locked. Regardless, the important thing is that it is fixed.

thanks for the help
