Razr Problem

I have had a Razr cell phone for a couple years and except for a few periods have had a problem shutting it off. The information goes but the backlight stay on and the only way to shut it off or do anything with it is to take the battery out. This only seems to happen in a small area around my home whih is about 600 feet from a competeors cell tower. I an with Aliant in Moncton and have tried Raxr with two other suppliers and have not had any problems.
