Ok,
So I bought a 4GB Sandisk Mem card for my touch to replace the 1gb in it... At first it doesnt read it, so I pop it in my Q that has the CAB file that unlocks the ability to see/use 4gb.. It doesnt work there either.. I pop it in the adapter so I can try it in my PC and it cant find it either.. So I Put it back in the touch, pull the battery, and then boot it up and now it can see the 4gb on the phone file manager, but when I try and put music or anything on it, it acts like it doesnt exist..

Im running Vista on an Alienware m9750 Notebook with FW update to read SDHC cards so there should be no issue.. Maybe I got a bunk card?

Any ideas.. The more I read the more it seems like people all over have issues with the 4gb cards.. anyone have any solutions to get it to read??

I also just got a 4GB card for my Sprint Touch, but mine seems to read fine. I haven't used it much, but I did load a couple movies I converted from DVD to WMV and was able to play them back fine. I've got a A-Data MicroSDHC. I have a different problem though. With the new card in, the device created a new name for it. My old one showed up as "Storage Card", but the new one shows up as "Storage Card 2" I didn't think it was a big deal at first, but now picture storage for the Camera doesn't work any more. I have the Camera setup to save to the storage card, there's a folder there called "DCIM" and I could use the "Camera Album" to view them. Now when I take a picture, it disappears and I can't find it anywhere (on the device or the card). I think it has something to do with the card showing up as "Storage Card 2" and the program settings or registry settings are looking for "Storage Card". Any Ideas? Or anyway to change the name of my card?

ok, update..

So the card DOES work.. to an extent..
thru the phone I can save files to it, download things to it, its just the Sprint music player says it cannot read the card..

But its strange, the card shows up as "Storage Card 2" and there is still a folder for Storage Card 1... anyone know of any way I can fix this cause im pretty sure that is the problem.. in the memory manager, the card shows up as 3.8gb which is normal.. is there a known issue with the sprint music player for this?

I have the CDMA touch..
Sprint Music doesnt recognise the 4gb card but WMP does and utilizes it
but the card also shows up as "Storage card 2".. still shows a "Storage Card" folder

Evil,

I got mine to work. Like I mentioned, mine also showed up as "Storage Card 2". What I did was remove the card, delete any "Storage Card" folders that still show up (I backed them up to another folder just in case), reset device, insert card. Now my new card just shows up as "Storage Card". I recreated the folders that were on my original card and now everything works fine (for me it was mainly the Camera/Camera Alblum which will only work from the Storage Card\DCIM directory).

Using one in a Telus Touch P3050 CDMA and it works fine. Not using the encryption. Just waiting for my 8gb to arrive. Hopefully that one works too.
