How do you set your home screen image to be full screen? I know this might sound stupid but i looked through everything and nothing seemed to help me so if anyone could tell me that would be great.

It really depends on what theme you are using. There are some themes with a static top or bottom border that will show no matter what picture you use. Also make sure your pics are 320x240 in size.
