turn off edge?

hey guys im using my treo 750 with atat and i see the little E icon there in the top which means edge is on and i have prepaid so i dont use internet, the internet will work tho it will just waste alot of my prepaid minutes, is there a way i can completely turn off edge so that i cant accidently turn something that uses edge?
