(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Posted by: ozziez2001

Hi
I recently became a proud owner of the Luna, but has a another language pack. (English, French, German, Spanish, Urdo, Farsi).

I need a product code for scandinavia, more specifically Swedish.

I would be gratefull for any information in this matter.

Posted by: ozziez2001

Is there anyone who can help me?

Posted by: Moderator HF 25

^ Hi, welcome to HoFo! This's a friendly reminder for you.

* I think that you haven't described clearly in the thread title. To serve you better, it is always better to make it to the point with your subject line. Simply put in a phone model or "help" without further summarize your question is NOT helpful. I have edited them to reflect one of your actual questions.

In the meantime, please check out the STICKY thread regarding this etiquette: http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=281681

Posted by: Moderator HF 25

^ There're always risk involved. Try put the original product code back and flash it again. See if it's the problem.

Well when i change to the original everything is fine but when i change it back to the swedish the problem occur. Would another code maybe solve the problem, if so, if someone has any product codes for scandinavian language pack for the luna, could u help me

Posted by: 2saints

Does it contain the email client? My "Made in Korea" does not have it so I'm looking for the Euro product code so I can flash my Luna.

Posted by: 2saints

Ozzie-

What is your product code? Does it have the email client under "messaging?"

^ Why not tell us your product code first? Made in Korea/Germany/Hungary/Romania/China/India isn't relevant. It's the software and factory tunings.

My current product code is 0551900.

Posted by: Moderator HF 25

^ ok, so you have the North American regional variant w/ language pack N. Try the codes for UK: 0546145 or 0550136. BTW, you can find those codes by Google. Just remember, there're always risks to lose something in order to get "more".

^ There's only 1 code specifically for Swedish. Like I've mentioned, the info can be Googled.

I was only able to get 0548200 so far, thanks for your help. I'll try those codes you provided and post back with the results.

Posted by: Moderator HF 25

^ 0548200 is EURO-A, Latin. I don't know if it'll be more likely for the OP.

Posted by: 2saints

I tried 0550136 and 0546145, no email client and the voice command does not work. I also tried 0548200 too and same issues. I then tried 0551946 but no updates available. I changed it back to my original product code, 0551900 but NSU would not update it back to the original f/w.

I went into NSS and went over to the "Tools" tab and under "Factory Settings" selected "Full Factory" and pressed "Reset."

After that I pulled the battery out and it restored everything to the original settings but all of my data is still here. But under "messaging" there's the email client I was looking for all along. Weird.

Under language it no longer has "Espanol", "Francais" and "English", it now has "English" along with:

Suoimi
Svenska
Dansk
Norsk
Deutsch
Islenka

Posted by: Moderator HF 25

^ Of course, you'll have those Scandinavian language: that's what I've told you about language pack A is more likely for the OP. But the most important issue: After you've done Factory reset, both email client and voice command start working again? Also, using NSU to update the firmware like in this case w/ different product codes, you gotta be careful. Some variants may not have newer firmware version than some others. Thus, you'll stuck w/ the "newer version number" regardless of whatever product codes.

I have the email client I didn't have before and the voice commands work again. Now if I can somehow manage to get the correct settings for Gmail to work. I tried getting the settings from Nokia.com but it didn't work, "Certificate is not present." Do you know a work around?

Posted by: Moderator HF 25

^ Thanks for your sharing. For Gmail: No, and I think you should your new question in the main forum instead as it's already beyond the scope of this thread.

Which code did you use?
I have 0548921 and it has English, Urdo, farsi, german.
I do have the email client.
But when i flashed and changed code, the voice commands stop working, and the speaker volume has gone down (but only for music, alarm not the ringtones)

0550136, use that and the procedure I described above but be careful because you may brick your phone, it worked for me but I'm not guaranteeing it will or will not

Posted by: Moderator HF 25

ozziez2001, have you tried Factory reset AFTER flashing?

Posted by: 2saints

Mod HF 25, finally got gmail to work on the email client

Posted by: Moderator HF 25

^ Fantastic! Let's hope the OP will get his to work after a factory reset.

I will have to wait until tomorrow to do that. This PC i have wont work properly, so im affraid to flash the phone on it.

Let me just get this right, its:

Start NSS
Scan for new device
Phone info
Scan
Change product code to 0550136 --> Enable --> Write
Then
Choose tools
And then Factory Settings
Select Full Factory and press Reset

Then what?
Should i update with NSU or...?

Posted by: Moderator HF 25

^ AFAIK, you don't need to use NSS or even Phoenix to do factory reset that way, you can go into the phone settings menu for that.

change to the product code you want first then update the f/w on NSU

after that go back to NSS and Choose tools
And then Factory Settings
Select Full Factory and press Reset
pull out the battery and put it back

that should fix the voice command problem

How about the speaker problem?
Is your volume lower after update during music or alarm?

Edit: the volume works fine sometimes if i restart the phone and sometimes it doesnt

I didn't have the problem with the volume.

0550136 this code does not include Swedish.
And is this procedure riskfull, and is it reversible?

you can change your product code back to original one but you can't update the f/w until Nokia releases a new update

Posted by: Moderator HF 25

^ Look, both of you: http://www.howardforums.com/showpos...02&postcount=11 0550136 is the code for UK variant w/ EURO-C language pack which is NO SCANDINAVIAN as for the EURO-A ones! If you've RESET the phone and still don't the desired experience, THEN STOP RISKING YOUR PURCHASE FURTHER unless you don't mind to keep a very expensive paper weight.

Posted by: ozziez2001

Thanks for all the inputs, it is much appreciated (spelling?). I think i will go to a repair shop and pay for fixing the problem.

I've changed the product code several times on NSS and updated the f/w on NSU and I've no longer encounter any problems with the voice commands or the volume.

I just can't wait for Nokia to release the new f/w if even.

Posted by: ozziez2001

Update:
Well im getting sick of all the problems im having with the scandinavien language pack. These are the things gone wrong:
Voice command
Volume during music and alarm
Animation lag during screensaver
Bluetooth, i can connect but i cant recieve files

And whats the slide animation (Settings->Display->Standby mode settings)? on my phone theres no difference wheter its on or off?

I think that i will try the method loveanh suggested.
Im going mad some functions are important to me.

Posted by: ozziez2001

loveanh, you said your phone has swedish now, could you test the voice command on swedish if it works?

Have you ever try to:

a) Do a FACTORY RESET by NSS?
b) Do a Reset to default settings in phone settings?

I did a factory reset on NSS and it worked fine ever since.

Posted by: Moderator HF 25

^ That's why I urge the OP to try what you've done.

^ Like loveanh, I'm glad you've finally got what you want: a fully functional 8600 Luna w/ EURO-A firmware and Swedish language pack. BTW, even though I haven't asked for any form of compensation, you're richer than you think: especially to ppl who CAN afford to keep a 8600!
