Contacts, why doesn't Windows Address Book sync?

I have Outlook 2000 and after various attempts (and then reading the manual), I realize 2000 is not supported. The other two options are Yahoo and Windows Address Book... I can't seem to import my Outlook contacts to Yahoo but I have switched to Outlook Express and my Windows Address book has everything...but when I attempt to sync via iTunes with the address book it just skips over that.

I've searched the 5 pages of topics on Contacts in the is forum but I don't see anything that states there is a software version requirement.... the Windows address book can be selected via iTunes, it contains the contacts I want, so what gives???

I have the right check boxes checked...

If I have to upgrade Outlook to 2003, is there a cheap way to do this? Can I download it from somewhere? I'm not willing to pay $100 + to get Outlook 2003 or 2007 just to get my contacts to sync...

Or is there a way to import my Outlook Contact (Or the Windows Address book) to Yahoo? My current Outlook email address is on Time Warner Cable (Road Runner)... I also have a gmail and yahoo email address but none of my contact are there... they are all in my Outlook or Outlook Express or Windows Address Book.

thx, scott
