K850i Startup Problem!!!

Just got off the plane where I shut the phone off to get into flight mode. Phone froze on startup at option menu (phone mode or flight mode) then goes into flight mode on its own after a few minutes and then stays frozen. Time and date continue to update on its own but nothing else works. Tried pulling the battery with it on and so forth.

Anyone else experience this? If so please advise, its driving me crazy!!!

I was having the same problem. My phone worked fine until i lost network service. Now when I reboot it says "Searching", and freezes. None of the buttons work, and it just stays frozen.

and the only way to turn it off is to pull the battery out.

I downloaded the update service software from sony's website, and updated the firmware. This took about 30 minutes.

Upon my first reboot it froze again... I plugged it into the USB cable, and after about 5 minutes, it vibrated a couple times, and now it seems to be working fine...

Hopefully the upgrade helped.
