I have a friend who has Windows Mobile 5 on his Moto Q. He wants to buy the upgrade to Windows Mobile 6 and he is unable to find it anywhere. Does anyone know where he can buy the upgrade. He already went to Verizon and they said they don't sell the upgrade.

They don't sell the upgrade. The upgrade is part of the firmware and is tied directly to the OS hardware. Moto has to release a WM6 upgrade for the Q and it has to be for a VZW Q as it is carrier specific. If Moto doesn't make it available then it doesn't exist.

For the original Moto Q there is no WM6 upgrade for any carrier. It just doesn't exist and probably never will. Especially now that the Q9M is almost 5 months old. If your friend wants WM6 he has to buy a new and different phone or hope that someone can convert WM6 for the Q9M to work on the original Q, but since there are slight hardware differences, even that seems unlikely.
