hey all i just got the tomtom navigation application for pocket pc it says. i have the atat tilt aka htc tytn II, so i copied all the files to my sd card which was about 950MB, and then i ran the install of tomtom on the HTC but once i pressed the install a small pop up pops up with an X icon and tells me its not valid or something, did i get the wrong version of tomtom application? it came with us and canada maps aswell, the maps are good yea, did i get the wrong version of the tomtom app?

Posted by: jackrussel32

it says my device is not compatible in other words, do i need to get the special version for windows mobile 6 or what?

can someone please reply

If it's AT&T branded you may be locked to TeleNAv and have to change the internal nav by changes in the registry.

Posted by: jackrussel32

huh? it is atat tilt as in atat branded, u saying it doesnt work on purpose??

Posted by: Cosmic Blue

no, he says the GPS software currently on the phone may not be compatiable with tomtom and you may need to go into to the rigestry to disable the software that comes with the phone so that tomtom can work.

you put everything from the dvd onto the memory card exactly as it is, insert the memory card and it should install. that's what i did anyway.

I just bought tomtom6 and it installed fine after a few tries . I finally got it to install by first
checking Install TomTom Software first.
Then rebooted phone and chose USA and Canada Maps fromthe top section of choices. I previously chose North america from the bottom section and it would not install (go figure).
But anyway, after a few tries I have all of US , canada and about 6 english voices installed and registered. aBOUT 1.2 gb OF MY 6GB MicroSD CARD
Software works nice. I like garmin a little better, but you need to keep that on the 2gb microsd that it comes on (if you want the one you pay for)
I bought it on amazon for 117 with 2 day shipping.
