i have a whole bunch of question for P1i gurus . I would be more then happy if you could answer as many as you can.

does anyone know for fact if you can use SE P1i for recording conversations and use it as general voice recorder (classroom)? how is sound quality? is it possible to program a key or shortcut for it? any limitations on recorded file size? when you record conversation does it make any beeps on noise that other party can realize that conversation is being taped?

is there a reliable Bluetooth GPS receiver with maps for Canada that does not require monthly subscriptions? i just want to charge the thing and use for free. preferably something fast, small and long battery life with mini USB connection.

Would Memory Stick Micro (M2) 8GB by Sandisk work with P1i ?

thanks for all the answers!

I can't help with your two primary questions but on SE's website they only rate the P1i for a 4 GB card. There were some on the page that were rated for 8 GB cards so apparently they should've been able to test the P1i with it.

edit
According to mobile-review.com however: "Also, there is a memory card-enabled edition with support for high-capacity cards (the P1i’s specs claim it works with up to 4 Gb, but it can handle 8 Gb as well, however no cards of this size are available at the moment)."

Hmmm, this may actually sway me towards getting a P1 instead of the W960 now...

Hopefully some other kind soul will chip in with answers to your other questions.
