HTC Touch Cruise?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Posted by: edinone

Hey folks,

Anybody know anything beyond what HTC says about the Touch Cruise? Anybody know where to acquire one? I live in Canada and we tend to get things a little behind (especially) Asia and Europe.

Thanks in advance for any info that anyone can post.

Best,
Edinone

i bought and received mine at http://www.negrielectronics.com/tou...ise-p-1350.html about 3 weeks ago, but i am not sure if they have stock now. A little pricey but they had it.

I just per ordered one from MobilePlanet a few days ago. They currently say that they will have them aviable for shipment on Feb. 9th. It looks like a super device. I'm will be replacing my Cingular 8252 with the Touch Curise. If anyone knows where you can get a desk cradle for this device please post.

I too am looking to buy one of these in Canada.

Availability seems to be coming slowly - I haven't seen it listed at any Canadian retailers yet, and the prices on the US sites seem rather high.

I'll buy one as soon as it becomes available at a reasonable price, but I'm not willing to pay extra just to be one of the first.

If I hear of a Canadian retailer selling it I will post the info in this thread.

Does this seem trustworthy to you? It is supposedly brand new in box..
Anyone heard of the site?

Thanks!

I puchased mine from

http://www.onthegosolutions.com/

It was delivered to me in two days. I returned it back after using it for
3 days. I shipped it back to them about a week ago, i'll let you know how
they deal with returns.

Why did you have to return the Cruise?

Expansys.ca sells the Touch Cruise but they recently jacked up the price by $75! ><
Their US site still has the old pricing though

Cancelled my order from Mobileplanet last week and ordered from Devicewire in the UK. I'm not from the UK. Had it sent it to a local address in London and a friend will bring for me. Just went onto Mobileplanet's website and their price is $719 before taxes and all the other additional costs. I preordered in December at $684, I think.

Qwavel, order it from the UK and have it shipped to Canada. Don't know what your import tax setup is.

MaskU2see? Still interested why you returned your Cruise.

How'd you manage that? Their site says it's pre-order only. And what was the problem with it?

I per-ordered a Touch Cruise from Mobile Planet on January 17th and they said it would be available for shipment on Feb. 9th. I looked at my pre-order today on MP’s site and it now said that it would be available for shipment on Feb. 22nd. Does anyone know if anyone has the Touch Cruise in stock in the US? I liked the MP price, but I would be willing to pay more if I could get one sooner than Feb. 22nd.

I just got an e-mail from wireless imports saying they are ready to ship. The price is $799

Hey dude,
The HTC Touch Cruise is available in plemix. Maybe you can check out here.

This is a nice phone though

Ok, so now I'm seeing some availability, but why is it so expensive? I was expecting it to be closer to $600. This is almost twice the price of the other touch.

And then I have to buy the SD card and the maps. Too much.

I am interested in the Cruise too and it is $800 cdn in my local shops. Is the price going to go down to match the Tytn 2? What do you guys think is a realistic price?

I’m still getting one from MMB but don’t forget about the fact that yes, they have upgraded the CPU speed and other things over the P3300 but they have removed and or don’t support the video acceleration that their previous models did. It’s seems a little dishonest. They are more they happy to tell you that we add this and that and speed up this or that but then don’t mention that your screen updates or frame rates will be the same at best and in some case worse than your older model with the slower CPU. This affects video playback, camera, games, GPS software and so on. Not cool, not at this price. No wonder it doesn’t have a VGA screen.
