920SH Owners' Thread!

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Posted by: KBoardBox

Huzzah! How many of you are out there? I think I may have been the second person in Vancouver to get one, possibly third. heheh love the thing!

However, I've got one colossal problem: I can't open the battery cover! It's really, really tight, and I'm so afraid that I'll break it if I use too much force. Anybody have the same issue?

Posted by: AL9999

I can just imagine this thread getting very very large.

To open the battery cover just push down hard on the point where a little line is drawn. It's at the top of the cover. Push on it while sliding it down, and it should come out.

For your (and other owners') sake, here's the English manual for the 920SH.

http://broadband.mb.softbank.jp/mb/...instruction.pdf

Posted by: KBoardBox

I've got the manual and the other guide lol

Yeah, I've followed that; still no good....won't budge. hahaahh

And all of a sudden I was wondering earlier today...would reception increase if I had the 1 Seg antenna out during a call? HAHAHA

EDIT: Never mind, found a way to open it lol!! I opened the cover over the charging port and used a nail to gently pull the battery cover from the bottom. Mine is just really tight...oh well.

Same as my 770SH. Tight

So this is what happens when I leave sharp for iPhone :P

Posted by: towairaito

question to owners of 920sh...

does the wallpaper you create works on the phone?

Posted by: KBoardBox

Yup, they work. I've got a nice custom one right now. Ringtones are fine too, but they gotta be below 200KB. :/

Posted by: towairaito

no way! now im tempted to get the phone. but only for call and text. the other functions doesn't work right?

Posted by: KBoardBox

Other functions don't work YET.

They will, have faith, child! The only drawback is that there might be additional costs later to unlock those features (which should never have been locked in the first place), but then that's the cost of early adoption. The phone came out in November 2007 fer cryin' out loud, and it's from Japan, so that makes it like a phone that would come out in Jan. 2010 here in Canada hahahaha!

Posted by: AL9999

Funny you should mention that, because there's already replacements for it coming up. 921SH, 922SH and 823SH have been certified by the Bluetooth SIG. So fear not, your 920SH will be outdated in just one or two months' time.

Posted by: yangj08

I wonder if any of those will be the Chinese AQUOS phone...

Posted by: johnmoon

Got Black / Gold ones, its on their way to me
will post up some pics later

Posted by: AL9999

No way. Chinese AQUOS phone wouldn't be that close to production, not when the execs said they're "planning on making one" and the Beijing Olympics are still many months away. Besides, they'll use a different model number too.

i wanna join the club soon

2010 is too early, 2015

It will not ever be released in Canada...

Make it the rest of the world whilst we're at it. 904SH being released anywhere else? No chance. Been and gone.

I might be getting a Japanese contract this summer with a 920SH. I'll let you all know roaming might be expensive though!

Thanks.

On the other hand, I might just get a softbank prepaid SIM and a 910SH or something and make it cheaper all round... will decide when I get there.

If people want things from Japan this summer, give me a shout.

hahah i second to you on that, but 920sh is just jaw dropping hahaha

i know 920sh, by the time they make it fuly unlocked, the phone is already out of dated, but who cares, i love my 920sh, the 3.2 16:9 Aqous screen just amazes me

Posted by: martindesu

I really don't think it will ever be fully unlocked.

Posted by: Eyies

^ Never know.. I was so convinced like a year or a bit more ago that 904sh would never be unlocked, and was silently laughing at 904sh early adopters, while I held onto my 903sh... low and behold..

Posted by: KBoardBox

haha I've got faith that it'll be unlocked soon enough; already buying the desktop charger and invisible shield for the 920 lol

Well, I think that the SIM hacks are a different breed to a software lock allowing you to throw in any sim...

Just my feelings though.

Posted by: KBoardBox

Agreed, but it's progress nonetheless.

Posted by: martindesu

^ Agreed. Progress is progress.

Posted by: Reevsaj

Is the reason that the 902sh dosent work fully with the PSS sim because the phone sees the PSS sim as an older sim card, and not one of softbanks newer sim cards?

Fixed that for you.

I am not sure about the PSS SIM - does anyone else know?

Posted by: KBoardBox

Nope, the issue is that they haven't figured out how to trick the 920 so that it doesn't need repro before allowing you in to the media player and camera and TV bits. That damned repro prompt...so annoying!

Posted by: Reevsaj

Is that a software issue entirely, or could it be fixed with sim card hacking?

Posted by: KBoardBox

Either way could solve it, I think.

Posted by: Reevsaj

Ok, so hopefully the maker of the PSS sim will release a version of it specific to the 920sh that will fix these issues.

Posted by: KBoardBox

....and watch us pay for it all over again lol

Posted by: shaznizzle

In my area, the 920SH is unlock BUT, can only call and sms thats all. The other features, camera, mp3 etc is all locked.

Posted by: KBoardBox

Same in every other area.

Posted by: Eyies

What a shame... almost makes me wanna grab the new toshiba phones.. they have full functionality almost right?

Posted by: Reevsaj

Yes but they dont have GSM radio's, otherwise I would have bought one by now too.

Posted by: yangj08

What about the 910T?

Posted by: aw614

is there any features on the 910t worth upgrading over a 904t?

Posted by: Reevsaj

Well i thought he was referring to the more recently unlocked 911t and 920t, but yes the 910t does have a GSM radio.

Posted by: takumi906

910t looks awesome

Posted by: johnmoon

Personally, I love the look of 911T (ever since I saw it from jpn drama last yr)
Why... I mean Why theres no GSM on this one!

Posted by: martindesu

made....for.... Japan!

There's a distinct reason that the 910SH, 911T etc etc are not GSM and are fully locked... they aren't meant to leave Japan (not many Japanese do anyway).

Posted by: KBoardBox

So it's like social engineering? haha since they are so attached to their mobiles, if they don't work outside of Nihon...they'll NEVER LEAVE. Muahaha?

On another note, anybody going to Japan willing to pick up a SHEBG1 dock for the 920SH/822SH for me?

Posted by: martindesu

Quote:

Well, if you go to Japan and ask around - most people do not go abroad to live or when they do, they won't use their mobile - but get a prepaid abroad - it is cheaper than roaming (in almost all countries).

If you need roaming, buy roaming (920SH not 910SH etc).

I wasn't implying that they are so attached to their mobiles, but you buy for what you need. It obviously suits the Japanese or the 910SH etc would fail in terms of sales figures(and they don't).

If you ask me nicely, I can get one this summer.

Posted by: KBoardBox

Pretty please? With a cherry on top?

Posted by: Eyies

Well.. the Japanese have always been known for their exclusion from the world

Posted by: martindesu

Well, I think it's fair enough really. It would be stupid to have no lock on the phone at all. Locking it down means that they are able to sell it cheaply to the Japanese and thus the second hand market is a lot cheaper for us to buy from and use PSS SIM etc.

If you think about it, would you prefer a totally unlocked solution starting at $1000? I think that would be a bit silly, but that is at least the worth of each handset.

eek ><

You're right, it is culturally true (as is my statement about the USA invading places), and I took no offence. Sorry if I sounded rude, I guess just reading things on the internet means that you put emphasis in places where it might not be intended No hard feelings I hope!

Hell, America and Canada don't exactly get along all that well

Like 1 person owns it

There's some pics in the 'show us your sharp...'

Posted by: KBoardBox

I'll post pics of mine working in this thread when I get my PSS SIM lol

That's if it works...haha

Posted by: riel

=D thanks thanks thanks

Where did you get your PSS SIM from KBB?

Posted by: KBoardBox

lol KBB? hahah nice. I got it from the PSS SIM store:
http://pss-sim.com/shop/

Posted by: riel

Hmm it doesn't mention that it'll work with 920SH.. only 904SH, 804SH, 705SH.

Posted by: KBoardBox

Yeah, but people have tried it and it works.

Posted by: riel

That's all the motivation I need.

Posted by: AL9999

Heh heh, I look forward to seeing a 920SH gallery on the scale of the one I posted of my 880SH. Can anyone match 160+ pictures? I would loooooove for you to try (No really, I'd love to see all the 920SH's menu screens, heh heh)

Let me think....No.

Posted by: yangj08

Maybe when someone works out how to get around repro. Otherwise most of the phone is inaccessible.

Posted by: riel

I just won the eBay auction for a 920SH!

Problem is, I got a phone call from someone who spoke Mandarin. The auction listed was in Japan.. The caller claims he is the seller, and that his paypal account doesn't work, so told me to transfer the money to another paypal account. Sounds too fishy.

I emailed the seller listed on eBay and am waiting for his reply now.

Hope it all goes well and I'll get my 920SH =/

Posted by: martindesu

Be careful...

Posted by: riel

Is emailing and waiting for a reply from the eBay seller the best way to go?

This is like my first time eBaying lol. Usually my friends do it for me, but this came up.

Posted by: johnmoon

Whos the seller?

Posted by: Eyies

Seems fishy, I'd wait for response from ebay seller.

Posted by: riel

The deal will hopefully follow through. This seller has good feedback, and has sold lots of phones, so he seems legit.

I think the person who called was a bidder who lost or something..

Posted by: Eyies

How did he get your #? Kinda creepy.. I don't remember phone # being stored somewhere on ebay./

Posted by: riel

The thing is, it was my friend who used his account to bid and stuff, and then someone called him.

He got scammed before by someone who spoke Mandarin for another phone, and we suspect it's the same guy who is trying to scam again.

The scammer had my friend's phone number because they exchanged numbers during their transaction (which resulted in a scam) before.

EDIT: Sorry this thread is turning into an eBay / paypal / scam thread, and we should stop =/ Thanks for the advice everyone! I'll post here again when I have something to contribute, maybe when I can make sure that I'll be a 920SH owner =)

Posted by: KBoardBox

That seller requests info from eBay after you complete the transaction, that's normal. Everyone should have their number in the system when you register for eBay, so that's normal too. Email and wait is usually the best thing to do (but it could take long if you're impatient, like me and the bloke who shipped me some damaged SNES games which may or may not have been his fault arrrrrrrrrrghgrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr), but if you wanna do things fast, you call.

Like I said in my PM, riel, hold up until I get home and I can check his name for you. And just to let everyone else know, yes, he is Chinese and yes, he does live in Japan so it doesn't surprise me that he speaks Mandarin.

Nice gallery
I was wondering, does the phone make noises when you press the buttons, and if it does, can you turn the noise off?

Posted by: KBoardBox

Yes (out of the box) and yes, you can turn them off.

Posted by: Eyies

Same as 903sh =p

I grab the sellers contact information (you need his ebay name and item number to get it). Then I call the number he is registered with. If the number isn't correct, then you can tell ebay about it and I think the seller will have like 2 days to respond or else they will freeze his account, getting you off the hook.

Try contacting the seller by phone first. Also, if the seller lies about item location, you may also get off that way too.

Posted by: wai_lai416

can you at leastchange ringtones and wallpaper on the 920sh with hypersim or pss-sim?

Posted by: KBoardBox

Yes and yes. I feel like I've answered that same question elsewhere...

Kev, he sent me a picture with his eBay name, new paypal account, and his contact info on a card along with the phone. I checked with KBoardBox, and he told me that his real name matches and all. Then the seller sent me a tracking number yesterday. Seems legit after all.

Thanks for your advice

Posted by: johnmoon

My seller finally got my payment... he better shipped it today
Black and Gold, come to papa

Posted by: taromilktea

any pictures??

i dont know much about this phone, but are all the features unlocked??
What can and can't be used?

Posted by: cta16

Basically nothing can be used except calling and sms. Check the 'Show me your sharp phone' thread for pictures.

Posted by: Reevsaj

Does anyone know how long (estimated?) it will take for the phone to be completely unlocked?

Posted by: KBoardBox

Quote:

No one has a crystal ball, and with these things, it's next to impossible to predict. The iPhone many said would've been unlocked within a month, and it took close to three, and people have to continually research it with each new firmware...so it's never really totally unlocked lol

Posted by: Reevsaj

Well thats disappointing. Maybe if there was more demand for it like with the iPhone it would happen relatively soon. By fully unlocked i mean access to most of the features, like camera, media player, etc.

Posted by: KBoardBox

Yeah, it's not going to happen as there won't ever be as much demand as the iPhone has and will continue to have for some time.

That being said, in Asia these babies are also very prized, so who knows! I hope soon as well...until then, my PSS SIM (WHICH STILL ISN'T HERE YET IN CUSTOMS ARRRRGHHHRRRR) will live in my 904SH.

Posted by: martindesu

The 903SH I ordered was released from customs with charges.... joy of joys... I really do hate customs!

Posted by: IonNuke

Can't the seller that you bought the 903SH from just write some random stuff on the customs form so you don't get huge charges with it?

At least that's probably what I'd do if I'm mailing stuff internationally.

Posted by: martindesu

I think he did mark it as a gift - but if the value is still $300 or something, they'll charge you. Bit of a shame.

Not sure man... cause he sounded like... take gold and silver or refund
I dont even care what colour I will be getting anymore as long as the phones
ship out by next wednesday (thats another 5 days to go)

Just do not want to hear "sorry have to wait longer or will give you refund" next wednesday

Posted by: riel

Where is he located? He should ship out as soon as he receives payment.. that's the way to do business. Fast and efficient.

I won the bid for the 920SH on Wednesday, and the seller went to the shipping office exactly 15 minutes after receiving payment. It's Friday today, and after some tracking, I see that my 920SH's in Toronto!

Jan 25 08:03 - Departure from inward office of exchange - TORONTO CANADA

Posted by: johnmoon

My seller is located in singapore
according to his information, he got one gold in stock and waiting for
silver which will be arriving on next wednesday
The only thing that ticks me off is... on his last PM he said
"IF you take two gold instead of black, will ship it out this saturday" and I said "Yes"
and this whole new story is going on now...

Good for you Riel, I guess I have to wait at least another 10 days to become a "920sh Owner"

heheheheh It'll probably work fine for you, though.

Posted by: aesculanus

actually it was more just over a month.

and the iphone also had an army of the best hackers in the world set siege on it. that 17 year old kid that first cracked it in august is on a free ride now at MIT and i guarantee you has already heard from the CIA and NSA.

you are just not going to get that kind of mobilization and superstar talent to crack unheard of sharp phones that nobody cares about. cracking the iphone had sex appeal - it was something that you'd be remembered for. some unheard of phone with an obscure three digit name? not happening. no matter "cool" the phone may be, cracking it just isn't going to get you TV interviews on CNN and articles by Pogue in the NYT.

the sharp phones own obscurity is their greatest protection against unlock.

Now I want 920SC over 920SH (White / Blue one)
but 920SC is even harder to find than 920SH
I msged my seller if he can get it and price, if the price is right
will just get one gold 920SH and 920SC

Anyone have one in canada? Id like to see some close shots on this one

depending on how he declared the item yes canada custom can be a *****.. i bought the gx32 and had it declared @ 400bux cnd but the canadian custom won't release it because they are trying to research the actual value of the phone because it's something they have not seen or heard... and they held it for close to a month...

PLEASE tell me he's just bs-ing. The SmarTone-Vodafone one will be totally unlocked, as opposed to the SoftBank one I just bought.

Let's hope that the guys don't stop trying to unlock the SoftBank if the SmarTone-Vodafone one is really going to be released.

. I haven't been on that board long enough to know his history. His post count sits at 5000+, so he's a pretty frequent visitor. The other posters on that thread seem to trust him, so I'd go with the consensus. He says his source is an employee at Smartone-Vodafone and that materials are already going around (if the release is really only one and a half months away it would be)

One thing's for sure, though- the general consensus on that thread is that they all just want a Chinese version of the Softbank UI. Apparently the Smartone-Vodafone UI isn't all that popular (I don't think it's that bad, but I have a Toshiba).

I wonder if the mainland's getting the same. China Unicom's also said to be getting the 920SH, but details on that are a lot less clear other than an April release date whereas we have a couple more concrete details to go on for HK (but seriously, $6000?).

Softbank JP and Euro are the best UIs

Posted by: KBoardBox

Huh, but they have 1 Seg in Hong Kong?

Posted by: martindesu

they don't have 1 Seg in HK

Posted by: Maikurukun

lol omg. i hate the bloody chinese firmwares.. lol..
I asked Easycell Toronto for European firmware or JP.. and they give me hybrid incomplete chinese firmware.

For your 903?

I kinda like that place.. gave me some pretty nice deals.

Hybrid literally makes me throw up. Literally.

Then that's going to be one gimped 920...wouldn't that make it cheaper as it'll only be using HSDPA for the FoneTV mobile TV service, and will have no need for a shotty 1seg tuner?

Hey KBB, what would you do if the SmarTone-Voda 920SH comes out? Since you're in Vancouver and can't make use of the many functions 920SH has, ie. camera, are you going to keep the JP FW and just use the phone for calls and sms?

I had TW FW on my 903 once. Took it to Plus One to get Euro, and the guy had to reprogram my phone from scratch because the person who put in the TW FW did it half-assedly. Only after reprogramming it was he able to install the Euro FW.

BLAGH that was my worse 903 experience.

On a lighter note, my 920SH should be arriving anytime =)

my white 2006 is euro, i guess I grew into it b/c I can power 8 into it and change the bars of it

but what I want is that prototype chinese firmware 903sh with chinese and full screen wallpaper with japanese themse
http://www.3siu.com/viewthread.php?...xtra=page%253D2

Posted by: KBoardBox

I'll probably keep the JP firmware as I have faith that by that time there'll be a solution to enable everything. The PSS SIM will live in my 904, after all, so all is well.

HOLY COW AWESOME! Love that wallpaper and the menu! hahah nice!

Posted by: pchan0

Couldn't see it from the pictures, is there a phone strap place on the 920SH?

Posted by: KBoardBox

Yup! In the back, at the top and centre.

Posted by: riel

Japanese people absolutely LOVE phone straps so I've heard.. don't understand why the 707SC didn't have a phone strap hook. I find phone strap hooks at the top centre inconvenient, and also poses a chance to scratch your phone when you're talking on it.. I like it better at the bottom corners.

YAYY:
Jan 28 - 09:44 - Processing at delivery Post Office - Scheduled delivery date: - CANADA

I wish they would fill in the Scheduled delivery date.. all this suspense is killing me.

Posted by: Eyies

Personally I think hybrid is pretty nice.. it's similar to euro.. except you get chinese.. only loss is ugly menus, and um.. no 8+power?

Yup, throwing away my white 707SC and waits for my silver 920SH.

It will be "Out for delivery" tomorrow.

Ooo in what condition is your 707SC in? I have a friend who might be interested =)

I hope I get mine before you do! Haha

No, it also has a lot of bugs, no Java and is unstable, at least from my experiences with it.

A hybrid firmware 920SH would be a nightmare and a half lol

Posted by: AL9999

Well I guess we'll keep an eye on how things go, I'm a bit skeptical of that info myself but have been proven wrong on these kind of things in the past, so we'll see.

If HK got their own sort of 920SH, it would obviously be equipped with either that DVB-H/T-DMB tuner kit Sharp made last year, or possibly a unique tuner kit to support China's homemade mobile TV standard. It obviously wouldn't have the 1seg tuner.

Posted by: martindesu

DVB-H please

Posted by: riel

Good morning, says the new 920SH user!

Can't wait to receive the PSS-SIM now!

Posted by: martindesu

PSS SIM is awesome. I tried using my own tape first, then decided to go head first and stick it down the way they intended. Works a treat.

Posted by: yangj08

If anyone's interested, another poster (on the Chinese forum the "920SH on Smartone-Vodafone" news came from) has said that FarEasTone is next to receive the 920SH. Of course, this poster is a relative newbie compared to the guy who mentioned the Smartone-Vodafone launch, so...

Another poster on that thread made the observation "so with the impending launch of the 920SH on three different foreign carriers (China Unicom, Smartone-Vodafone, and FarEasTone) the price of the Softbank version is bound to sink". Hmmm...

Don't worry dude - we'll see.

I only like JP or UK versions of software anyway so I think I'll be keeping the 904SH

i don't think the price of the softbank version will sink that much...
the 903 came out on Smartone-Vodafone and FarEastTone as well after the vodafone one came out.. but prices for the 903 was still kept high... till now

One thing to remember is that all the 903s did the same things. The Softbank version of the 920SH is quite crippled, and an HK/TW/CN release of the same phone will not have the same limitations.

Posted by: riel

<3 mr. postman.

920SH and PSS-SIM both arrived!

Hopefully I'll get it working =)

Okay I got a question.. since I want to swap between 920SH and N95, is there a way for me to "switch" SIMs? Like could I have a Rogers SIM in N95, and PSS+SIM in 920SH, then register the SIM that is in the phone I want to use? Since I read that PSS+SIM won't work in anything but a locked phone.

Posted by: KBoardBox

You can try not taking off the PSS SIM off of your Rogers SIM and put that in your N95. Could work. Not taking off the PSS SIM is the best for the phones though, as it's properly thin and not overly thick with scotch tape and that backing on the 3M tape, hence less chance of the thing getting stuck in your phone. I got it stuck in my iPhone during testing and freaked out cuz I couldn't get it out until I used one of the small bits on the BAKU screwdriver to reaaaaally push down on the SIM tray release hole on the iPhone lol

The PSS SIMed Rogers SIM card didn't work in my 903, but worked fine in my iPhone, which is unlocked (duuuhhhh ).

Bless you, BAKU!

Posted by: riel

...and I got my 920SH to work with the PSS-SIM!

Hey what do I select when it asks me for reprovision? No right?

I tried my PSS + Rogers Sim on Iphone, TX60, two samsung phones

That's good to hear man! My N95 seems to like the PSS-SIM too =)

The seller included a Sharp AQUOS phone strap that originally came with the 912SH, and a free screen protector. Damn this guy's the best. He updated me with an email every day, telling me where the phone is etc., although he gave me a tracking number. What an awesome seller.

EDIT: When the 920SH asks if I want to reprovision, I select No right?

Posted by: KBoardBox

Select "No" for repro. If you select "Yes" it'll just try to do repro and fail lol

Posted by: riel

Is there a way to get rid of the msg? It pops up everytime I want to access the main menu..

Posted by: KBoardBox

No way yet.

Posted by: riel

Alright then. Hey which microSD do you use for your 920SH KBB?

I just tried my 1gb OEM Nokia microSD and it didn't seem to read.. it gave me the message "Infeasible" lol

Posted by: santorku

Im freaking out! So i just got my 920sh! yay, so I go to order the pss sim... and there out of stock!!! what can I do? i really need one!!!

I have a question for you guys.
Is it right that both pss sim and hypersim can unlock 920sh? any other special sim cards can also unlock? which one is the best? thanks.

PSS-SIM and HyperSIM both work. Some claim one is better than the other. In reality they both do the same job effectively in the short term. Long term nobody knows, since the PSS-SIM only came out on January 3rd, and no one's been having problems so far.

Since they both perform the same functions, go with whichever is more convenient.

Posted by: santorku

does anyone know where to get a hyper sim?

I am not sure about the HyperSIM, but PSS-SIM you do. It's not difficult to do though.. just used a hole puncher and punched one hole.

Posted by: KBoardBox

You need to for the HyperSIM, as the chip is in the corner. Easier to cut for the HyperSIM though lol

Thanks for the PM, I block the gold contact with tape so the phone couldn't read it. It works now.

I have the Hyper SIM.

EDIT - Installing the handset manager but some how it can't connect to my phone. Anybody know what to do? Anyone know what the handset code from the 920SH is?

Thanks.

Hmm from experience, the handset code is usually buried within the manual. Give it a peek and lemme know if you find anything =P

Posted by: KBoardBox

Handset code? 9999 should be it.

I dont mean to be a annoyance, but i really need to find out where to get a hypersim , im not sure which will work etc. (Wanted pss sim but sold out).

It's the default code on all Sharp handsets.

NO MP3 for Japanese phones (unless anything with euro f/w in it)
have to use MMF, they sould pretty close to MP3 though, I like it

Posted by: martindesu

MMF - ringtone

AAC (M4a/MP4) for audio playback.

Read the ringtone composer sticky at the top of the forum

Posted by: aznboix

up to now, i still don't get, is the 920 unlockable?

Posted by: martindesu

You can make and receive calls and texts when using the PSS SIM. Not a full unlock.

simple answer but clear! thanks buddy!

Posted by: riel

Tip - Menu -> Network Settings -> Select Service -> Manual -> GSM

Saves a lot of battery.

Posted by: santorku

wow read alot of useful stuff around here, still looking for either pss sim or hyper. lol so far no luck.

Posted by: riel

I would like to plan a little get-together in Toronto for those of you with 920SH's to take some spectacularly sexy hot pictures of our phones together =)

If you're interested, you could PM me your location so I can decide where would be the closest place for everybody.

I'll post here the people that PM's me and is interested.

If your 920SH's on its way, lemme know too, and I'll plan a date after you receive it so that you may attend.

=)

Posted by: aznboix

just curiouse, where do you guys get the sharp 920sh?

Posted by: KBoardBox

eBay or Yahoo! Auctions Japan.

Oooo...I should do a 920 meet for peeps here in Vancity. Like the three people...haha

Posted by: riel

Tip - Hold the camera button while your phone is closed to turn on the torch light.

Anyone in Toronto wanna meet up and take pics? Oh and PM's replied =)

Posted by: mky777

is there T9 on 920sh or no?

Posted by: KBoardBox

No T9 at all. Both the 904 and the 920 have really, really bad English texting...hahaha i.e. "0" isn't space, when you cap a word it actually caps the letter your cursor is at, etc. hahah

Flashlight...sweet!

Posted by: KBoardBox

Not as cool as the older sharps (902, 903, 904) which after you do that, you can press the volume up and down keys to cycle through the colours of the light.

Posted by: CommanderZero

http://s14.photobucket.com/albums/a...rrent=Movie.flv

couldnt make a gif, so heres the actual video.

Posted by: takumi906

wow that does indeed look like a 920sh

Posted by: wai_lai416

that can't be a 920sh coz the oled display is on the left while the 920sh is on the right :P

as for ringtones... what program can i used to make it louder? goldwave? i don't remember how to use it at all -_- i tried increasing the volume on goldwave but i don't think the output file changed volume at all :S i can't hear the 920sh ring at all -_- so soft ~ and it's set at 5 already

btw i noticed when i tried to play the ringtone in the ringtone selection screen i can press up on volume button and the volume would increase a little bit.. but it sounds louder then the actual ringtone set at volume 5 when ppl dialed??

Posted by: riel

Use Yamaha's Sound Wave Decorator and select Normalize. That will increase the volume.

Posted by: AL9999

The phone in that video is a Sharp W51SH for KDDI's au network.

Your battery might be totally drained. Plug it into the wall charger until the red light goes out, then try again.
