Ok, I'm usually pretty thorough before I ask questions....But this one has me stumped.... even threads on this board do not have the real answers (only cause I've tried)... so, here it goes....I've got an Ocean (Pantech Pn 810, on Helio) I put the ESN on my Alltel phone line and it will of course rings and texts....BUT is there any way to access the files (if it has a file system) or Get a SPC for this phone...so I could change the PRL's to really use the Alltel network cause right now it is still using Sprint/Helio towers.... ANY help would be greatly appreciated....Thanks....B-

You have to call them to get the service code. Each is different to the phone. I had to call up because I was getting the white death screen when I loaded up my SURF browser. When I called the tech said I can't right the instructions down nor the code because it would void my warranty (as well as posting the information on the site). From the few people who have Helio Ocean's, all of our service codes are different. So I'm not trying to give you any ideas but if you somehow had that white screen issue and answered the tech's questions correctly they would walk you through the process and give you the code you're asking about. Then it would be up to you what to do with that information from there.

I would say that only the person can help you who is the employee of Helio. Because as they have knowledge and experience about it, no body else have.

This phone is hackable - just not easy...
Basicly you'll need:
--CDMA unlocking software
--USB cable
--Drivers
--Time
--PRL file for the service provider you want to put the phone onto.
--If married, a very understanding spouse (just in case you need to buy anything...
)
Fortunatly, I found my Audiovox 8900 series USB cables for my old phone work on my Ocean!! You'll also need the drivers from helio... You can get them here.
I used CDMA workshop - the free demo does work to unlock your ocean. I really hate to advertise for them as I think they overcharge for their software ($99 for a single license).. You can get the demo here.
You'll need a PRL for your service provider - normally you can get these off your old phone or do a Google search for "PRL Page" and you should find it...
Make sure you download one for and EVDO mode phone, if your carrier supports it. If not, you'll need to put a non-evdo PRL on your phone and set it to 1X under the settings menu. (I haven't tested this...)
OK - now you've got everything you need... I leave it up to you to setup your USB cable drivers and hooking up your phone...
Once done with that - Go to your device manager and under "Ports (COM & LPT)" you should see "Curitel Packet Service Diagnostic Serial Port (WDM) (COM##)".. We only need this COM number - close the device manager.
If you haven't done so, install CDMA workshop and open it... Set the COM Settings Port to whatever that number was you got from the device manager. Leave all the other settings alone!!
Make sure the phone is on and the slides are closed. Attach the phone to the USB cable and plug it in. The phone should go into Helio Sync Mode - don't touch the phone until you are done here...
Click Connect!
Next click Read - it should bring up some info on the phone information page...
So far, so good... Next Click on the Security Tab - in the "Password (16 digits)" area, click the pull-down and find the "Pantech PN-810" and click it. Click Send!!
Popup should say "Password Accepted. Phone Unlocked."
Congratulations!! You've unlocked your phone - the SPC Code is now listed under the "SPC/User Lock" area... Click on the SPC button - click Send on the menu that pops up..
Popup should Say "ESN Accepted. Phone Unlocked."
Next, Click on the "Other" tab. Under the PRL area, click Write (don't adjust the settings in the pull down boxes, should be "Universal" and "NAM1") and browse to your PRL file you should have found and downloaded earlier.
It should say something like PRL was written successfully... don't recall and I don't want to attempt it again and have to OTA my phone, AGAIN!
OK - Almost done...
Now, Just click on the Main Tab - Mode Button, reset from the menu that pops up..
Congrats, you've got a hacked Helio Ocean err... Actually a Pantech PN-810!!
Unplug it and you're all set.
It might be in roaming mode - this is normal. Don't fret - you're not being billed yet.
Now just contact your provider, give them the ESN of your phone (Dial ##786#, click view, find the ESN in the list). If they ask what make/model of the phone just say "Pantech PN-810", not "Helio Ocean".
Per FCC regulations: CDMA Carriers cannot deny your request based on the manufacturer or previous service provider of the phone as long as the ESN was not previously reported stolen.
They should give you the instructions on how to activate the phone, probably dial *228 and press 1 - but do this only after they've setup everything on their end.
EDIT: YOU CANNOT CHANGE THE ESN ON THIS PHONE - IT IS HARD CODED INTO THE PHONE, AND IS UNFLASHABLE!!

I changed it on mine in cdma workshop with no problems
