pretty basic, but slick. Its kinda slow to startup so just give it some time, it also has internet connectivity as well.

Cool thanx

I tried running the Hello, Android program. Does the moving red light go away and then the program runs? I waited for what seemed like forever and nothing happened.

I just read on Google's groups that it takes a very good computer to simulate more than a low-end phone. It took my 2.4GHz Pentium 4 almost 20 minutes to run Hello, Android.

Sure, it takes some time to load the Emulator, but it shouldn't be a problem for a 3-4 years old PC. Did you launch the Eclipse too? If you don't know, you can start the emulator stand-alone, and load apps to it directly using the command line .

I installed the latest JDK and updated Eclipse. After a restart, programs would appear in about 5 minutes. That is mostly bearable.

quiet long anyway. BTW, what OS are you running it on? I tested it with XP SP2 and some linux distors. On linux it runs remarkably faster. I hope you don't mess with Vista though

I've been running Vista, actually. I might boot into Ubuntu and try it out.

Takes all of 30 seconds to a minute to load fully on a MacBook Pro.

I use Vista. 1.83 ghz processor-2 GB ram. Fully prepared for it to take a few minutes to load. Took MAYBE six seconds. Don't know what you guys are talking about.

I only have a 1.73GHZ - 2 gig ram and it takes 30 seconds -> 1minute to load.
The package install and run takes approximately the same time.

I hav heard that some computers seem to be slow when running this, quite weird.

2.4ghz cpu here and it loads in less than 30 secs. programs load instantaneously. i installed a few 3rd party apps too,its pretty cool. i also wrote a simple c program and even that runs, so it does support native application programming,not just java. but even though the main development platform is java,thats no problem since the cpu is java enhanced so you wont run into those performance issues other java emulators suffer. its basically native when using java.
