My brother gave me an Alltel HTC PPC6800. I would like to use it on Verizon. Can this be done? I went to a Verizon store and also called customer support. I was told that I can't use the phone on Verizon because it is programmed for a different frequency (1900mhz vs. 850 mhz) even if it is on CDMA. Is that right? Am I better off switching to Sprint?

Any help would be appreciated. I understand how GSM phones work but not sure how CDMA phones work.

Verizon Does not allow phones from a different carrier into their network. So you would have to buy a verizon phone sorry
