Calling.... But doesn't connect. (8830)

Ive had the Blackberry 8830 for about a month now. On two different occasions I've tried to make an outgoing call and it shows "calling...." but never connects. The only way to fix this is to do a battery pull. (Im guessing I dont receive calls during this time either)
Anyone know what may be the cause? I dont want to get an exchange since Ive got Opera Mini and other apps already installed and using the $15 unlimited Email plan only, through Bell Mobility.
