Safest way to clean your screen ?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

i bought a 910i recently. this dumb gadget, which i can't stop playing with and
really enjoy, was worth no small pile of coin.

i would like to take a cotton swab and dab it with an alcohol-based solution.

is this safe ? are there better, more specialized options ? what about water ?
spit ?

toothpaste....

No for real alcohol based is the way to go. I would stay away from ammonia based cleaners...

do not use toothpaste.... i've read a lot of good things about toothpaste...but when i used it to clean my damaged xbox360 game (stupid machine broke it and microsoft wouldn't give me a replacement unless it broke another one...) it sratched it up even more...
just use some alcohol and it'll do the trick

I was totally joking about the toothpaste...

lolz... well i tried EVERYTHING i could find online the banana thing helped a bit after few tries and it actually helped make the game run again but would freeze sometimes...stupid microsoft.... ended up selling the whole thing only took a month and 4 replacements for them to realize they should just send a brandnew one...

isnt it common sense to use a microfiber cloth and alcohol to clean screens, like you would with eye glasses? surprising that so many ppl don't know this, as this is not the first thread asking this question.

I use a fine microfiber cloth (the cleaning pad that came with my old Razr) and nothing else. I prefer not to use liquids if at all possible. Usually a breath or two will do the trick.

no,,,, phones get abused!

A little TLC goes a long way!

I cant say enough for martin field screen protector overlays --- they are simply amazing.. If you don't have one and are worried about your screen go by one.... Worth EVERY PENNY! - cant see it on the screen...

pics of screen protector (should have cleaned it off firs, but you get the idea)

It raises the screen height up to the top of the soft keys.

i use micro fiber and some meguiar's quik detailer spray. if its good for car paint then it cant go wrong with its high lubricity characteristics. at least for my phone it works.

I wouldn't use alcohol it streaks, clean it with glass cleaner and a soft lint free cloth. afterwards try some furniture polish on a new cloth to shine it up. Works great on discs too. Stay away from cotton, believe it or not it will scratch if you rub too hard.
