I have a 1.1.1 otb iphone that has been accidentally upgraded to 1.1.2 04.02.13_G and I believe 4.6 is there anyway to now unlock the phone. Ive looked everywhere and all I can find is people talking about downgrading 1.1.2 otb with a hardware hack.

BL 4.6 can't be unlocked, at least by software. I have no idea about TurboSIM or the likes.

is there a way to find out what bootloader i have as Im not completely sure. i do know that as of right its week 39 1.1.2(1.1.1 otb) and the modem firmware is 04.02.13_G

also the IME starts with 01 130100

if that helps

updating to 112 won't upgrade the bootloader, just the baseband.

If your phone is jailbroken there's an app that tells you your Bootloader version. If it was 1.1.1 OTB, it "might" be BL 3.9.

I think the 4.6 was in iphones form around week 45+. I don't think week 39 will have the 4.6.

what about the fact that its 04.02.13_G

All that means is your baseband is that. Run the BL info program, and that will tell you.

Posted by: mrjoey35

well ive restored back to 1.1.1 activated and jailbroke installed anysim and i get an error that says "anysim" can not unlock this phone. this has been the biggest headache ever

Posted by: Ishimaru

Does no one read my posts???? Sigh. You get what you deserve, geez.

Posted by: mrjoey35

where is the bl program i've looked in a bunch of different sources and cant find it anywhere

Posted by: Ishimaru

"Then add this source on the installer "rep.frenchiphone.com" then on the installer app go to frenchiphone and install "Baseband Info 1.1"

Then run BBInfo on your iphone and it will tell you what Boot Loader you have just scroll down."

From this very forum.

just an fyi (and as per this post I made http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=1316572) I managed to get through the unlocking process on 1.1.2 but when I check the carriers option in settings it shows "Automatic" "Tmobile" "AT&T" but they are all grayed out so that I cant select one or the other.

Posted by: Ishimaru

Then it's a 3.9 bootloader, as AnySim cannot unlock 4.6BL.

Posted by: mrjoey35

So any advice as to where to go from here.

also i really appreciate all your help

Posted by: Ishimaru

Since I'm on Cingular, I haven't (nor will I) unlock my phone. So I have no idea what you're talking about. I've never even seen the EDGE settings screen on my phone. Sorry.

I'll help you out

do this:
- add http://i.unlock.no as a source in installer
- Refresh
- Go to installer, Unlocking Tools
- The Virginizer, Follow the instruction and install it
- Once complete, Restore it to 1.1.1 in recovery mode
- Jailbreak it using the *#301# and jailbreakme.com
- After jailbreak, go to installer, update it if you like
- Add http://i.unlock.no
- AnySIM

bam, you're set
