Anyone know if the guide found here:http://iphone.unlock.no/bootloader_downgrade.htm

Will work on a 1.1.3 phone, with the new bootloader? Customer brought in a newphone today and wants it unlocked, this was purchased at an Apple store by the way, so the new firmware is in stores now.

If you read the link you provided you'll notice it says right there that it does not work with 1.1.3 OTB.

bootloader 4.6 is the 1.1.2 bootloader isnt it? the purpose of that tutorial is to downgrade 4.6 to 3.9, so if it indeed is 4.6, then yes it will work. how do you check the bootloader anyway?

Agreed, I wouldn't touch that crap at all.

you will be crazy enough to even think of to try it out

? It's not that hard. I just bought tools from ebay to open it, takes like 30 seconds to open. After you do that, just run a couple commands and touch two small circuits together. Done. Not like you're soldering or anything.

It should work fine.

For those of you who have not read his previous posts or looked at his signature he is a tech at a mobile repair shop. I am sure he is aware of the risks and challenges that come along with opening the iPhone.

Short answer again is, yes - it will work. That will get you the bootloader you want, so you can then downgrade to 1.1.1 and jailbreak, upgrade to 1.1.2 and jailbreak, then do the 1.1.3 hybrid upgrade/jailbreak.

Obviously you can also unlock this phone as well using anysim 1.2.1u while you are at 1.1.1 or 1.1.2. Just make sure after you downgrade to 1.1.1 that you downgrade the baseband, and then restore 1.1.1 again. This will get you with 1.1.1 firmware and baseband, which is just where you want to start!

What are you basing this on? You are flat out wrong. You can downgrade the bootloader and then do whatever you want to with the phone. He is a cellular telephone technitian and is more than qualified to do the downgrade. If he is comfortable doing it, then yes.

Your final answer is obviously an uneducated one and TechGuy needs to take it as such.

This is from GeoHot's blog:

If you upgraded to 1.1.3, have fun waiting for 1.1.4!

You're actually correct. I missed the fact that the phone was already at 1.1.3.
