Hi everyone,

I had an unlocked 1.0.2 and re verginized it. Went to upgrade to 1.1.1 and accidently RESTORED to 1.1.1 instead of upgrading. When I try to do the steps to activate and Jailbreak it just hangs on Install AppSnapp.

What do I DO!!!!!! Please help!!!

You didn't screw it up. It always hangs on install AppSnapp. Just make sure when you click install appsnapp the phone is connected to your computer and itunes is open. It will work the first time no problem.

Doesn't matter. I use 7.5 on one computer and 7.6 on the others. I just have been too lazy to update the other one. As long as you are on 7.5 or newer you will be fine.

OMG I Think i really screwed it up this time!!!
I tried to upgrade to 1.1.2 and after the downgrade through DFU mode the phone was not jailbroken anymore. I tried to jailbreak and it didn't work!!
I then tried to upgrade to 1.1.1 through DFU and now ibrickr wont kick it out of restore mode....

Did I really screw this one up good?? someone please help I hope i didn't blow my money away

Close everything, unplug your iPhone, restart your computer.

1.) Start ibrickr (version 0.91)
2.) Plug in your iPhone, ibrickr should kick it out of restore mode or at least detect that your iPhone is not 1.0.2 and ask you to downgrade.

During the downgrade process, at some point it should kick it out of restore mode. If your phone is 1.1.1 use jailbreakme.com to jailbreak, then READ THE GUIDES for upgrading to 1.1.2 before doing anything else.

ok so I downgraded fine to 1.0.2 with itunes fine now. Do I use ibrikr to jailbreak? Gawd i'm so confused. Is there anyone available MSN to help a guy out. I would GREATLY appreciate it

First Upgrade (or restore) to 1.1.1

If you just want to stay at 1.1.1, follow this guide:
http://wiki.howardforums.com/index....Mac_%26_Windows

If you want to go to 1.1.2, follow this guide instead:
http://wiki.howardforums.com/index....OT_OTB%21%21%21

Read carefully and follow the steps exactly. You might want to read the entire thing before doing anything.

ok cool. ibrikr is trying to jailbreak as I write this. When I last tried to restore to 1.1.1 I got the itunes error from 1015 and needed ibrikr to kick it out but it couldn't and said itunes needed to restore it.

This all happened while trying to do the 1.1.2 upgrade. Sorry if I sound impatient or anxious i'm just worried and not sure how to fix it. After I upgraded to 1.1.2 the other guide said to downgrade to 1.0.2 to unlock and thats where all the problems started.

Sorry for the double post, here is the guide i was using:
http://wiki.howardforums.com/index....OT_OTB%21%21%21

I was at the part after I jailbroke and oktopreped 1.1.1, upgraded FW to 1.1.2 and then downgraded to 1.0.2 to unlock. When it restored in DNU it was not activated or jailbroken. I tried to restore 1.1.1 but got the error thats expected but ibrickr couldn't bump it out of restore mode. So i restored in DNU 1.0.2 and tried to jailbreak through ibrickr. Now the phone blinks blue and black with the yellow triangle and ! with scrolling white letters on a black background.

Any help would be much appreciated as i may not have screwed it up before but I'm pretty sure its dead now.

The restore to 1.0.2 completed?

Sounds like you're here:

Quote:
5. Once done, Error 1013, no problem. Close iTunes and use the following to activate and jailbreak:

Windows: http://ibrickr.com/downloads/ibrickr_v0.91.zip Mac: Independence http://code.google.com/p/independence/

Independence/ibrickr will kick iPhone out of recovery mode by just opening the application.

Just restore to 1.1.1. When that is complete and you get an error - RESTORE TO 1.1.1 AGAIN. Then use jailbreakme.com

If you want you can restore to 1.0.2 - again, do it twice. Then use AppTapp (usually I do this twice also), then PACAY to activate. You then will want to check your IMEI and make sure it matches the back of your phone. If it does, then update to 1.1.1 through iTunes and your back on track. The good news here is there is really now way to ruin the phone, we can always fix it. If you need help let me know, I can get you on AIM.

Thanks very much. I read online that I needed to hold the sleep and the home key to make sure it was turned off. Then reconnected it to the PC and then restore. If I have any probs I'll hit you up on AIM.

Man you guys are amazing, you dont know how hard it was for me to not out right cry!!!
what if I still get the error 1015??

You will get it for sure, thats normal. Dont even worry about it. That just means your firmware and your baseband dont match.
