What is the location of the "mobile" subdirectory in 1.1.3?

Is the "mobile" subdirectory in 1.1.3 located in the partition in which the system files are located (which is limited to 300 mb or so) or in the partition in which the music and pictures are located? It makes sense that it would be the latter, as this is presumably the subdirectory onto into which Apple-approved apps will be saved. If the former is the case, will it be necessary to create a symlink in order to have more space available for non-Apple approved apps and Apple-approved apps? If so, what will be the commands necessary to create the symlink? Also, will the apps that are installed through the Installer app under 1.1.3 installed into the "mobile" subdirectory or into the "Applications" subdirectory (which I assume will be located in the smaller system partition). Third, if the apps installed through Installer need to be placed in the "mobile" subdirectory, can I just move the apps folders from my "apps" symlinked subdirectory to the "mobile" subdirectory - at which point they should appear on the springboard. Finally, I read somewhere that, under 1.1.3, there is a limit of 9 springboard screens. Has anybody tested this? What happens if more than 9 screens are required (this may be the case if the Categories app will not work under 1.1.3 and people want to have WebClips and Speed Dial icons on the springboard). I apologize for all of the questions, but some of this information is not clear. Thanks for any input.
