Thinking of getting an iPhone.

I'm thinking of getting an iPhone in the near future. Should I, or should I wait? I heard rumors that the iPhone2 will be announced in early 2008, and I don't want to get an iPhone only to hear that theres gonna be a new one 2 weeks later.

if you are thinking of getting an iphone then you should coz there was no annoucements in macworld so i will assume that there is nothing new comming anytime soon other than updates to the firmware but go to a att store play with it and see if u like it coz it is a good phone but no out of the world some people are crazy for it and some dont like it

there are few few people in between like myself

if u decide to get one then enjoy!

As previously mentioned, since there was nothing announced at MacWorld it is unlikely that anything will be announced during the first half of 2008.

Apple generally announces new products in January (during MacWorld) and in September. So if there's going to be any announcement at all, it'll probably come in September at the earliest.

Can you wait until then? Keep in mind, the longer you wait, the closer you're getting to that inevitable announcement.

Don't be upset if that announcement doesn't come this year. Lol. Get the Iphone now! Now need to wait. SDK is going to be released at the end of February, so you will be able to put tons of applications on your Iphone, which would make it even better.

I'm getting the Iphone next week. I was going to wait, and just get the Tilt for now, but what the heck, I want it now! lol.

There is no point in waiting for technology unless it was just invented. It is always getting better and cheaper.

As long as you are aware of the shortcomings of the iPhone. I bought one, sold it for a tilt, then N95-3, now I have another IPhone. It's a nice phone. The Browser as well as other things are so revolutionary it makes it hard to use anything else.

I am also considering buying and Iphone but not for At&t but for T-mobile.
There a couple of problems tho that I would appricate some info on.
1. I heard that the new firmwire (1.1.3) can be jailbroken, which means I cant install anysim to unlock it. Also lastest Iphones thats are being sold already come wit 1.1.3

2. Which data plan could I use for the internet. I currently have the sidekick plan but will that work.

3. i was watching an old video of how to unlock the Iphone but the person demostrating it said that youtube didnt work because he needed a path file, does this accure all the time or just with current methods of unlocking the phone.

I just got mine and i love it. But im not into jailbreaking or unlocking phone. i just use it as it came updated of course.

Its a good phone none the less but if you aren't going to subscribe to data then dont bother. As for any of you deciding to buy one, I would just buy it now! I think Apple is going to lock the iPhone even more with future updates.

1. 1.1.3 can't be unlocked out of the box. I suggested getting one off ebay or craigslist. 1.1.1 is going for about 700, 1.1.2 with turbosim or similar is going for 600-650. Pricey but totally worth it.

2. dont know

3. As far as i know youtube will work with any unlocked 1.1.1 or 1.1.2, must have been an older unlocked version or older anysim.

I keep going back and forth about getting another iPhone. I've tried the iPhone, Tilt, Curve, and RAZR 2 but keep going back to the Treo 755p. I also have a fantastic deal with Sprint's SERO plan, so that is what keeps me from going back to the iPhone.
