So, I threw caution to the wind and upgraded. I figure I have a spare hour or two this weekend to put the phone back to 1.1.2 if I end up breaking things horribly.

So far, it's working out well.

But... it's been widely reported that the applications don't run as 'root' any more, but as 'mobile'. I was a little surprised to run Term-vt100 and get the familiar root shell prompt. According to 'ps', all the applications -- Apple's and third-party -- are still running as root.

Is this something that was changed in the 1.1.3 jailbreak process, so that existing third-party apps would have a better shot at working, or do applications still run as root in 1.1.3 after all?
