This is kinda annoying,

When I put my phone on charge overnight and when I disconnect the usb cable the next morning the phone shuts off. Its the second night in a row that when I take the cable off the phone shuts itself off.

It's never done it if its only charging for a short time. Seems to only do it after a long charging session.

That is quite weird. I have a Z6m from Bell and it's never done that. Can you still return it for exchange as DOA? That's what I did when I updated my firmware and it didn't work properly. Just make it sound like it was busted when you took it out of the box.

Like the poster below I have not had that problem either, nor have I seen anyone in these forums mention it. Any chance it's morning static? I have cans of water in all rooms of my apartment during the winter to control problems with static. Also agree with below, if you think it's hardware check into a DOA replacement. Can't hurt to ask.

well I had already contacted the dealer that sold me the phone (which is only 1 week old) about the fact that it says "cannot charge" once and awhile and he told me that if I wanted another phone that he would change it for me. Maybe this charging problem is related. I think I'll call him on monday for him to order me a replacement. It's a corporate phone so they have to order it in.

Thanks for the super fast responses.

BTW fred2028 where did you get a firmware update? I'm with ALIANT in eastern Canada and there isn't an update yet for my phone. What changes are in the firmware that you uploaded?

Well when you say that you charge it over night, then remove the usb cable do you charge it from the wall outlet or the computer using the use data cable. If you charge it from the computer with the usb cable its suposed to restart itself when you unplug it from the computer anyways....not after a short period of time but when you leave it plugged in for a long period of time. It thinks that the long period of charge was due to a software update which will cause it to restart on unplugging.

well I got my phone exchanged and this phone doesn't shut down. I do get the occasional "cannot charge" but unplugging and replugging the phone restores it. I do use the computer to charge.

Yes, I do have that issue also with "unable to charge" but like you said unplugging it and replugging it fixes it but it still makes me wonder why it does it.

I think it has something to do with the power limitations of the usb port because the other day I let me phone go completely dead and I was getting the "unable to charge" come up alot. I used the 120v charger and had no problems. I think the usb charger is fine just to top up the phone but when it requires more power the 120v charger is better I think.

You didn't have MSU running when you would unplug your phone right? I believe when you unplug your phone from your computer if MSU is running it restarts it. Oh, and my v9m does the Cannot Charge thing sometimes, but I don't have to unplug it, then plug it back in. It just sits on Cannot Charge for 3 seconds then begins charging.

Yeah mine never comes off of the "cannot charge" unless you unplug and replug it.

mine either , it always stays on cannot charge. I haven't seen the cannot charge come up since using the 120v charger

My phone was shutting down in my hands not connected to anything. It only did it 2 or 3 times but I got it changed anyway.

The phone will reboot if your connected to the pc and you shut MSU down without disconnecting the phone first. If you disconnect the phone then shut down MSU the phone will not reboot.
