Is there any way to use AOL as text messages instead of data plan stuff. I don't have a data plan and just want it to work like my old razor. I know if I didn't want data then I should have stuck with a none smartphone. But I do so much texting with my girl that I need the keyboard. Any help would be great thanks.

it should come with free aim software under the oz client. if not just point ur web browser to http://device.home. i konw ur gonna be charged but its a little bit not a lot. thats about the only way ur gonna get aim with texts. but i must warn u aim with texts is slow as hell. u could be waiting anywhere from seconds to minutes to get and send messages. u have been warned.

Well it does come with a messenger but it connects to media net to use it. Thats what I am trying to avoid.

u wont be incurred with data charges for that it works trust me. any messenger u use is going to connect dont worry though its free. it uses text messages.

I called at&t and they said that the aim on the duo uses data and I would be charged for time connected and each message sent and received. So does anyone have a step by step on how to get the text version or make the current aol on the phone use text instead of data.
