Pc wont detect my Pebl. Any help?

Sorry if this is in the wrong place but can anyone offer help?

I've a motorala pebl for around 12 months now and has it installed on my old laptop. I just got a new laptop but am having problems. I used the Motorola Phone Tools 4.0 disc to get phone tools onto my PC but when the computer asks me to connect my phone by usb it says it can't detect my phone.

When i connect the cable a greemn status bar comes up and it says "please wait your phone is being installed and set up". but then a screen comes up saying "Motorola Phone Tools has not detected your phone" and asks me if i want to launch a live update to update the phone list, but the results of that say it is up to dates and there are no updates.

The other option is to install the phone manually only when i try to search for a driver windows vista tells me the phone has stopped working and then it closes.

Any suggestions?

You might try visiting Motomodders.net and look under P2K Software for the Motorola Drivers V2.9. It's free to register.

I think you can't use MPT with vista. I have the same problems with my laptop which is vista, but my Xp with SP2 works perfectly.

i'm having the same exact problem right now with vista. i just got the computer a few days ago and can't get MPT to work with it.

got mine working. go here and download the 32 bit driver. you'll have to create an account with them though. its free.

i did that and it still wont detect the phone
