I just noticed today that my Blackjack 1 was displaying the 3G icons on the top menu line.

To make sure it wasn't reading it wrong, I turned on my Blackjack 2 and it displayed the same thing.

I'm pretty sure they did, and I got 3G a couple months ago. But it's possible that they didn't have all the towers updated at the same time or something. But most all of Virginia should have 3G now, and they are still building towers to increase signal strength.

How's the signal strength with the Blackjack II. I heard that it jumps back and forth between GSM and 3G alot.

Well, I haven't seen it active until this past weekend. I know the previous weekend I didn't see it and even didn't see it when I was up past Richmond the weekend before that.

I guess I'll have to start using my 875U modem now that 3G is up to see how fast it is. Been using my SE GC83 EDGE data card since I knew 3G wasn't available.

Where have you been? Greater Norfolk area had strong 3G at Christmas time, when we were down visiting. I noticed it in Hampton, Newport News, Norfolk and Virginia Beach. My signal was a heck of a lot better than my daughter's Sprint.

I know someone else mentioned it in the forum. It's great that I can get a 3G signal in places that before, I couldn't get a GSM/Edge signal. Like deep inside of some buildings! I love it.
