Nokia 6555 as replacement for LG Cu400 for Mom?

My mom's LG CU400 phone recently died on her and it is still under warranty. The phone itself works but the earpiece no longer produces any sound. ATT is backordered on the LG so they offered her the Nokia 6555 as a replacement. Browsing the threads it sounds like a decent phone but I didn't know if anyone has compared the two or used both. Searching with both model numbers turned up nothing.

She only uses it as a phone so I am not worried about the extra functions. It is more about ease of use and large and easy to read display and anything that doesn't have me providing daily tech support. I am trying to get her to go to the ATT store to play with one but with her schedule and mine right now I don't know when we would be able to stop by.

Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.

If your mother is in a 3G area, she will find that the battery charge does not last very long. Others have complained about the fixed short backlight time. One plus is that the phone has speaker-independent voice dialing. You just say the name and the phone calls the number. You can assign a default number for a contact so that that number is always dialed when you say the name. If you do not assign a default number for a contact, you pick one of the contact's numbers from a list when you say the name.

Yeah I believe Tampa is now 3g. The battery life isn't a big issue for her since she is one of those people who owns a cell phone but only turns it on if she needs to make a call though lately I have finally trained her to leave it on when she is out running errands.
