My Tmobile dash has been acting up on me... When i turn on my dash it displays the windows mobile screen and then the t-mobile startup screen, then it will vibrate and repeat and it never actually boots into the homescreen.... My phone has been doing this for the past hour.

Any suggestions? do i need to do a hardboot and if so how so i do that?

it should be in the instruction booklet how to do it i know on my tilt i have to hold the send and end key and press the stylus in the hole and keep holding the buttons till screen says its booting

Turn the handheld off, hold the two soft keys (the dashes to the left and right of the phone buttons) hold the power button for 1-2 seconds and then release the soft keys. It should prompt you to clear storage. The “send” button is considered as the green phone button.

If your lucky it will reset and allow you to boot up.. Mind has had the same problem and still after hard reset it still does the same thing..

It took couple days for the reset to finally work for me.. i now know that its back to factory defaults, but still not working.. if you find something else that works let me know..

good luck...

im considering sending in for replacement since i have the insurance.. but already upgraded to the HTC TYTN II, so that phone is low on my list of things to fix now...

I may get it fixed just so i can sell it...

Question....does the hard reboot delete contacts? What exactly does it remove?

the hard reboot will reset the phone back to factory defaults.. so you will lose anything you havent backup to your pc... as for contacts.. if you had already had the phone sync's with your pc (outlook) you should have all your contacts on your pc and can re-sync them after you reset your phone..

If you are able to establish a connection between the pc and phone and access your files and contacts.. i would backup everything before you do the hard reset.. once you know you have everything you need off the phone then proceed with the reset...

Before you do a reset take the SD card out and see if it boots correctly then check the windows/startup folder and see if there is anything installed on the card being loaded at startup.

Ok, I purchased a new battery, it worked fine until it finally ran out and needed a recharge. I plugged the charger in and it initially gave me a yellow light as though it was charging, then it went to the red and won't come on. Do you'll think I'm having a problem with the phone charging or what do you think I should do at this point? With the charger plugged in, the light now stays red.
