Im looking for a phone like blackberry, blackjack, treo, or mogul...
would like to know which has the most "hackable" potential..
and just standard functions.
I like easy of use, such as touch screen like the mogul.
Just like to see which out there is the most popular among the users of this great site.
thanks for the help everyone Very Happy

Although I believe the Blackberry to be the best PDA/Phone combo out in the market today, that's entirely dependent on having an Exchange-based service that supports all the features it can offer.
However, the Blackberry OS isn't the most "hackable" device on the market. For that reason, I'd likely recommend Windows Mobile if that's a big priority for you. All kinds of cool hacks for the WM devices out there. However, again, the PDA functions for those devices work best with Exchange-based enterprise solutions.
Next up would be likely be the iPhone. While not the best PDA out there by a longshot (feature wise) it is quite agnostic about email and desktop based organizers. It can synch with Outlook and other desktop solutions, but where it really shines is via hacks (Jailbreak) and the built-in media options, which are easily the best in class in the market today.
Treo used to get a big thumbs up from me...but it's really showing it's age these days as a "has-been" IMHO. Everything it does can be done with the other aforementioned solutions.
Just my opinion, but I've owned variants of all the above. I'm currently using an iPhone, just migrated there from a Blackberry Curve and have been a vet of several Windows Mobile solutions for past couple of years. I gave up my Treo over 2 years ago.
Warning: Be aware that once you hack a device, it can easily become a PITA thereafter. My Windows Mobile solutions rebooted several times a day once I started hacking them. "With great power comes great instability" LOL.
I think the HTC Touch might be of interest to you given the options you mentioned.

yaa thanks for the advice on those phones...
what would you think of the tilt or n95-3...I see they have lots of features for
price above many.
are there many mods for these phones out, if they don't already do everything...i dont' hear to much talk about those even though they seem to be great phones
thanks again

My suggestion is carefully and honestly consider what feature set you need....is your pda phone going to be an entertainment device while on the run or do you need to actually do work on it every day and while on the road?
I think the Iphone is the best of what I will call the "entertainment pda phones" out there. If you just want music or web surfing on the run then it is a lot of fun. But walk through an airport and you will notice that the kids are on the Iphones and the hardcore business users are NOT. The reason is that the iphone lacks basic pda features including Browser plug-ins/Flash/Javascript, stereo Bluetooth support and 3G compatibility, user swap batteries, IM, front facing camera, pic and video messaging, and more. One business user I talked to who took his Iphone back did so because he didn't realize when he bought it that Iphone lacks wireless sync....how can any serious pda be lacking wireless sync? Iphone also does not have true mobile office support...you can read the word and excel and pdf docs but editing is another matter. So, if you want entertainment on the go the Iphone is fun and hackable. If you need to do business on the road look to one of the many HTC phones (Mogul, Tilt, etc), Blackberry, Samsung 760, etc.

alright alright
Im looking for a phone that will do it all such as the tilt or n95 which Im leaning towards.
Iphone does seem pretty great, so many bad reviews though lol. to many limits, as you mentioned.
I see lots of posts about blackberry and treos, rather than the phone I see as slightly better the nokia n95 -3...any reason, or is that phone just to new??
something important missing?? or just b\c it doesnt have windows on it.
what is so great about windows btw? anything great about the n95 OS, Symbian OS?\
thanks again guys

There's really nothing "great" about Windows Mobile _other_ than the fact that development for that platform is relatively easy and therefore, there exists an abundance of 3rd party applications (freeware/shareware/payware) and hacks. That was something you indicated that was of value to you in your first post.
Other than that....I happen to think the OS itself is rather "bulky" for a phone/PDA device. It's full featured to be sure, but not the most intuitive UI out there. But that said, you can customize it 12 ways to Sunday. VERY tweakable and hackable.
Really, you have to pick your poison here as I can't think of a single device that encompasses everything you want. I've no experience with the Nokia's so someone else will have to chime in as to the hackability of the platform and/or if it's popular for same.
But the iPhone is really customizable via hacks. So is the WM OS, and typically without causing you to "break" your phone to do so.
