who makes better phones? what about other companies like moto and sonyericsson? what are the best?

i've never had a LG, but i can tell you sammys are not all that great in the reception department compared to Nokia. check out the nokia 6555

My Samsungs have all received GREAT reception. Samsung is better than LG.

I think the Samsungs of the last year or so have had reception performance up there with the best. The lg Shine is a nice phone, definitely beautiful, but it's software leaves a lot to be desired. No customizability, slow menu response, and a keypad that will leave a small japanese girl scared to type messages out on.

I like Nokia's the best, Moto's a very close second. But if I had to choose between LG and Sammy I would DEFINITELY go with Samsung!

LG makes better CDMA phones, while Samsung makes better GSM phones.

I can't find a Samsung phone thats interesting to me. I had a LG CU500 and it was a great phone so I got a Shine, its not a customizable ;-( Still a nice phone though.

I hate Motorola's, been there done that. Ugh.

Now that I think about it, this a very accurate statement. They're regular phones have plateaued, even falling back a few steps in features. Same quality of phones, they just lack features and such since the Sync.

actually, samsung makes brilliant cdma phones...They are #2 cdma manufacture worldwide too.

Yeah, agreed. Blackjack II is definitely nice, but more of a design evolution than a true successor.

It's not to Say that Samsung doesn't make nice CDMA phones but for the most part they've been coming in second lately on the CDMA side to LG.
