I have been looking around at the S9 headset. Has anyone purchased one off of eBay? Who was the seller and how do you like it? I am going to start using my blackjack more for music and look for a good bluetooth headset. Any suggestions please.

I have used the S9 for a few months now w/ my BJ1. It is a really nice headset for music, but it does have a huge flaw. It doesn't work well outdoors... I think the problem is the bluetooth transmitter on the BJ isn't very strong, so the signal is weak to the S9... line of sight, or indoors, works nicely. I use them in the office and when I travel. Also, ppl tell me I sound like I'm in an underwater tunnel when I talk to them w/ the S9 as a headset, so I just use them for music.

Nice review. I love my S9 but mostly use it with an iPod nano using the Motorola D650 BT adapter. I decided I prefer iTunes and not having my phone with me at the gym during a workout.

I've had an S9 for about a month now and use it exclusively with my Blackjack 1 while exercising. My experience has been mixed but ultimately positive. It is a rather unique piece of gear in the market today and perfect for what I use it for. I have tried it with my iPod and it works very well for that also.

The first one I bought was from an online retailer with the lowest price I could possibly find (~$70). It was apparently an OEM version and lasted all of one week. The side controls shorted out due to perspiration which was common in the earlier models based on my research. Even though it passed the visual tests on Moto's website as being authentic, I suspect it was either a very well done counterfeit or a very early non-US model.

I couldn't find anything comparable and ended up buying a second S9 from Best Buy locally. It has worked very well under the same circumstances for a number of weeks now. No issues and I'm very pleased. Unlike some, I've had no issues with range either inside or outside with my BJ. Actually, I've been very impressed with how far I can get before the music cuts out. That said, I've seen a number of range complaints, so YMMV.

I would be very cautious purchasing one off of eBay to save money. From what I have gathered, fakes are rampant and your chances of getting one are very high. If you want to keep it a while and only buy one, I'd strongly recommend getting one locally at a retailer. If it messes up or you don't like it, you've got some time to return it. You also have the best chances of getting an authentic latest revision unit that will last.

S9 is a great headset...

For music listening...

It SUCKS when talking. Unless you are in a QUIET enviorment, I found the S9's to be useless. Every caller I would talk to would complain about the loud background noise. There is an upgraded version of the S9 called the S9-HD which may be better but I havent tried them. Here is a link:

Chances of getting a fake one isnt very high unless you dont know what to look for. Or you buy from a random seller. Check feedback, check the pictures of the product and look for a gurantee for authenticty. You should be good to go.

I bought a H9 headset from ebay because I didnt want to pay Sharper Image 149.99. I spent a few days looking, making sure I was buying a REAL Motorola item. It arrived and it was OEM.
