NE2 up Need to Choose New Verizon Phone

I have a dying Motorola E815. I snapped the base of the antenna and it isn't long for this world. My NE2 was up a couple of months ago so if it had to go..now was a good time.

I really like my E815. Right now I only use it for the phone and some camera (I have two small kids so I can catch unplanned photo ops!). I don't text at all and haven't used Mobile Web either. We have transfered the photos via the SD card in the E815, so an SD card or an inexpensive (ie part of a package) way to transfer them is key. I have a 20mile commute each way for work and rely heavily on my Bluetooth headset so good Bluetooth reception is important.

Another point that dh feels is important is that I never "wear" my phone. It's in a coat pocket, or my jeans pocket..a purse, diaperbag, backpack, etc. Drives him nuts..but it's the reality of being a girl. Ninety percent of the time I am wearing dress clothes at work so I hate having a clip on the phone for the ten percent of the time I could use it.

Dh and I have a Family Share plan w/ 700min, I'm the primary phone. I get a discount through work on our plan (20 something percent on services, and 25% off any accessories...nothing on the actual phones).

Dh has a first generation Razor (he lost his E815 and had to replace it) and HATES it so he has recommended I stay far away from it. He did look at the newer V9m and said it looked nicer than his and didn't have some of the things that annoy him w/ the first generation ones.

I think I would like to be able to do some kind of email on my phone...it isn't important to me what kind (we have verizon fios at home and I have a few different web based accounts) and some web browsing (mostly message boards). Dh isn't thrilled at this as he doesn't really want to pay a lot of extra money for the access...and he has a Blackberry for work so his gadget quota is being fulfilled w/o us paying for it!

I looked at three phones, the Motorola V9m, the Blackberry Pearl 8130 (in pink!) or the Voyager. I'm open to other suggestions though!

From what I've culled reading the boards here, if I opt for the V9m or the Voyager I can go w/ a $15/mo plan w/ the unlimited VCast/Mobile Web access. If I go w/ the Blackberry I need to opt for the Monthly Data Plan for $29.99/mo.

So even though the Voyager is more $$ now, the Pearl will cost more in the long run in access charges (and ergo may be more difficult to talk dh into!).

Is this correct? What will I be able to do on the v9m and the Voyager w/ the $15 plan versus what I can do on the Pearl for $30?

What are the pros/cons that I'm missing?

I'd appreciate any input. I'm concerned that my 815 won't last much longer!

Just a word of advice, I just used my NE2 and picked up the Razr Maxx to replace my 3 year old E-815. I've also spent some time with my friends V9M.
One would think that these newer phones would be a heck of a lot more advanced then the 4 year old E-815. They are not! Maxx will be going back to the store and I will be picking up a new 815 on E-bay. There are a ton of 815s on e-bay that claim to be brand new for around $100.00. Even if they are factory refurbs, they are still a good deal.
Here's a short list of what I think the E-815 has over the Maxx:

Better RF, Speaker phone, sound quality, sound and display options, Crisper display, battery life.

The Maxx and V9M will give you a better charging port, it's a little slimmer and has a much nicer camera.

What kills me on these new Verizon phones is that you can't disable the missed call beep! I always had my 815 set to vibe when I missed a call.

I ended up w/ the Pearl. I've had it for two days and love it so far!
