KRZR + Phonetools , no multimedia?

Sorry is this has been posted elsewhere. The search keeps timing out.
Anyway, we recently installed phonetools for our Verizon KRZR (v1m I think).
The multimedia option is missing. Any ideas? It updated to the latest version.
Is this a lockdown by vzw to get me to use vcast?
