I just started to notice today but it's starting to bug me. When I rest my thumb gently on the homebutton...and move it around a little bit...the homebutton feels loose. Do you guys have this problem?

me too, but nothing to worry about. i am sure we'll die before the iphone.

the iphone is like the toughest grandma out there, burying us before her death!

Just noticed this today myself...but now while playing with the homekey, its not wiggling sooooo maybe just hold the iPhone on its side?

mine is like that too. it gets a little loose from use. wobbling it more will only get it looser.

Oh okay. I just thought it was just my iphone...but apparently not the case.

yep. I noticed that mine was like this several months back. I actually went to the store and tested the floor models, all of which had a loose home button. I've seen multiple threads on this issue as well. All of this leads me to believe it is normal and a non-issue. It doesn't bother me at all now.

ok..that makes me feel a lot better....I was about to go sell this one on ebay and get another to see if it had the same problem. That saves me a lot of time and effort. Thanks guys.

If you put a case on it that covers the button, not only will it not move, it'll stay free of debris.

I hate that loose button feeling.

not to thread jack but is anyone else's home button feel a bit on the recessed side?

Posted by: chtrho51

I have noticed on my 1st week iPhone that the home button feels a little bit different then an iPhone that was recently purchased.

Anyone else notice this?

Mine is slightly recessed, but not loose at all.

Posted by: ipodlover77

yea, thats how mine is. My button isnt loose but its a tiny bit recessed. Oh well. I guess i'll add that to the list of flaws. The squeak on the back (which was fixed with tape) and now the recessed button.

Posted by: otsego6

I wouldn't say that a recessed button is a flaw. Is it noted anywhere that it is supposed to be flush with the phone?

well compared to 3 of my friends iphones, mine feels just a tad bit recessed. Its not big deal. Just a little irk if i pay attention to it. Just was wondering if anyone else had it.

Snug as a bug...tight as a nun??? haha im jk don't want to offend anybody.

Also at the button of the iphone, on the speaker side...try pushing the speaker up slighty...you could probably here a squeak there as well.

yeah.. mine does that, too.. that's too bad. I sold my old one.. firmware 1.0.2. which was bought back in august which the home button didn't have the problem, but the new one I got firmware 1.1.2. does that.. it's annoying.
