motorola W490 on mac

is there anyway i could use a W490 on a mac to transfer some of my songs to the memory card so that i could used them for ringtones? or do i have to use it in windows?

It functions as a USB mass storage device, and I don't know if that's OS-dependent. Make sure your phone's USB Connection setting is set to Memory Card.
