Can you still receive emails while using GPS with the 8310? Also, what about when on calls. Do the emails still come through or do you have to wait until you are done with your call for the emails to come to your device? Thanks in advance.

You don't get voice and data simultaneously. The network should give voice priority, however, pausing data transfer to allow calls through. I have had experiences though where calls went to voicemail while I was browsing the web.

More than likely the caller above calls went to voice mail when data was actually being transferred. It's rare but it will happen.

You could liken it to making a phone call, if someone calls and your ringing out they'll get a busy signal. That's what will happen if a page or email is downloading... the call will go to voice mail.

Hope this clarifies for you!

I use a Curve with a gps puck (I-Blue 747).

I get e-mail while the gps is working. Gps even continues to work during a call, until Telenav needs to pull down additional map info. You cannot get e-mail while on a call.

An external GPS device uses Bluetooth and is not involved with the Internet connection. It is no different from using your headset in its relationship to the Internet data stream. If the GPS device is internal, it only uses data from the Internet to update the almanac and to download maps if they are not stored within the phone.

It looks as if I replied to the wrong message. Sometime Howardforums is so slow and then other times the page jumps around. On some occasions, the page disappears after your click on Submit Reply. I guess that that happened and I never got back to the message.

The GPS chip in the phone works independly. You can use the GPS without a sim card. So yes, you can use GPS while on a call. Now, if you want to use a map with the GPS or other program that draws data, you cannot talk at the same time.

The GPS in this phone blows the DOORS off of the GPS in the Moto Q9H!!!!
