What to do until upgrade? (AT&T)

I'm due for an upgrade in June, I have an LG CU500 now. I chose this phone because of its quick and easy interface, and it's good, but I'm starting to run into problems. It'll shut off randomly, the music buttons always set off songs when im in a quiet room, and overall its just too much phone for me. All i do is talk and text. a lot. i'm always on vibrate, i've never had a personal ringtone.

so what should i do until my upgrade? i've been thinking about getting a samsung a437 refurb for $30 so i can have a decent phone without all the crap my LG is giving me until June. is it worth it? is the a437 worth keeping for more than 6 months or so? i could possibly keep it anyway, all i really want is the best "basic" phone i can get. good reception, battery life, call quality, and a good text interface. is the a437 the best choice?
