Sprint Pearl OS to Alltel Pearl OS ?

I flashed my Sprint pearl with the Alltel OS and I have a question. The About area in options shows the firmware has the latest version of the Alltel firmware .81. My question though is it still shows the SprintSpeed when it boots and it looks like nothing is different. Still totally like Sprints. Is that how it normally works? Are blackberries different than when flashing a different phone?

You didn't flash it with Alltel OS. You flashed it with RIM software. All software for a specific model are the same regardless of the carrier. You just up dated the firware that you all ready had.

People are saying the AllTel firmware has more free ram but I am not seeing that. Did I do it wrong in that sense that it does not say AllTel and all that?

You did it right. Flashing your firmware will not change your start up logo. It will should still say sprint

Yup. The splash screens don't change.

Splashscreens don't change

And carrier specific apps (As in the case of TMo My Favs) are pushed down to you from your carrier.

I am getting an error message after downloading the .81 OS file from RIM -- "error reading setup initialization file"

What is the issue?
