hmm.. does anybody have a way to make 3gp videos and use as ringtones...
i've been at this for a while now and so far.. the message i seem to get is
Data not supported.

ive been using 3GP_Converter034. video ringtones is the only ringtones i use, except two custom mmf ones for two of my friends. this program is pretty easy, with setup it asks you what type of 3gp to use for, ive been picking between 3gpp+amr general setting/ or general setting with xvid encoder. depending on the video you put it, it can sound pretty good, or kinda lame. i think it only takes avi files.. but hey, its free, and pretty cool. been using it for my 707sc and 703shf for over a year. hope this helps.

^ did exactly what you said there but when i try to set it as ring video, it gives me a message saying "Cannot assign. Due to file size error"

I guess there's a file size restriction that we have to find. Same thing as the MMF ringtones, eh?

By the way, pv604, I got 3GPConverter working! Had to do a clean install of QuickTime 7.4 first. Now I'm watching Little Mosque on the Prairie on it hahaha

ok so i downloaded 3gp converter
but nowhere does it say mp4 to 3gp

which setting would i use?

Doesn't matter. Just drag the MP4 in and it'll work it's magic. PM me if you need the proper VGA versions of the files. The stock 3GP Converter won't work for VGA output.

Played around with settings in mediacoder to create video ringtones and settings I found that the 904sh will allow are as follows:

::audio::
- amr narrowband
- 8000hz
- mono

for video the only thing that mattered was the resolution, it had to be 176x144 or lower. I had it encoded with the xvid codec with the 3gp container. The bitrate was as high as 768 kbps, but I haven't tried any higher. Sucks how the video quality for the video ringtone is great, but then the sound isn't so hot due to amr-narrowband only choice. Wish aac could be used for ringtones and video ringtones =(.

Also, the highest size I found that was accepted was up to 3 megs for video ringtones, I haven't tried any higher.
