Attack of the clones...

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Ok, having purchased an ipod nano clone out of curiosity for fun, I know first hand how craptacular these clones are...but

I have been following the shady side of the iPhone clones because I am so fascinated with imitations, (even when owning the real thing),
I have found that the best iPhone clone up to now is the Desay M888... not bad, but junk non-the less... (cannot work here missing 1900.850 bands)

but I have to say that this last clone takes the cake, it is called the HiPhone, apparently it runs Windows mobile...

actually, for $200 I'm sold!

edit (I saw the bulk price: $159ea for a lot of 50), if you want only one it'll run you $325, shipping, import duty and tax... so we are looking at a good $500, ouch.

wow for 200 bucks it makes me just wanna get one to see how it really works and all thats a really good price for a phone.

I want it because it has what I want, phone, capacitive touch screen, 850_ 1900, runs windows mobile... Not a bad clone at all...

And I really want to compare the packaging!

haha funniest **** ever. Did you not see how it froze at camera and he backed out n tried again. Then it was playing music and tried to scroll through file manager and music skipped the whole time. By watching him have to repeatedly tap certain things for phone to respond shows the lack of a finger sensitive touch screen. This is crap

He tried the multi touch too lol

better video.. Wow, look when he does the "slide to unlock" it must be a good quality touch screen... even has "pinch" zoom... this is crazy...

wow...you shake it to go back a song..?!

If they eeeever get the thing out...

but take a look at this GPS phone by garmin

I love how the camera app buggs out launching in both those vids...it actually crashes out in the first one and he has to relaunch it lol. HiPhone is a very good knock off for what it's worth...interface looks really nice and spot on or completely amateur depending lol.

If it actually were Windows Mobile, I'd get a couple in a second just to program on. But the text gives it away as the typical Chinese homegrown setup.

I'm always astonished at what they pack into these things, though.

I bought a couple of $60-$70 PMP's last year off eBay that were super thin, 320x240 color screen to play songs and movies, could take pictures and movies, and had an FM radio built-in.

These little gizmos from China also had a realtime MPEG encoder!! I could hook up A/V in and record a movie onto removable SD cards. They were perfect for my kids.

I'm looking forward to a fully converged device from China one day, but open to US programmers.

actually, there are two versions, one for $159 with homegrown setup, and the other one for about $259 with windows mobile 6, this is the one that I want... basically I just want to install LCARS into it and make my own star trek phone...

Ooooo. I looked but didn't find a seller for the WM version... got a link or two? Thanks!

(It's pretty ironic that today's devices actually look a lot neater than the futuristic gizmos on TNG.)

Edit: Ah, okay, found one. $250, as someone said.

T32 Windows Mobile 6 iPhone clone

(Funny thing is, I really dislike the one-button paradigm. I believe in real buttons for Send/End and PMP/iPod functions.)
