ok, I am haveing multiple application and other problems, what can I do to solve these issues. I will list some of the problems. 1. When I click onthe ?(help) key the following aperas "error starting net_rim_bb_help:module 'net_rim_ecmascript' not found" 2. if I go onto media and into ringtones, it does not matter wether I click on a preloaded or somthing I downloaded the msg reads "Unable to display file/device memory/home/user/ringtones/firetruck mp3". it does not matter what I click on in media same msg, unable to display, Now this probably does not have anything to do with it, email does not work. and at the top it reads "Data connection refused. please please please help me, I just got this phone sencond hand and I want to love it, except....any and all help appreciated

For email and Data Connection Refused make sure that you have a Blackberry data plan.

Actually, if you haven't done so, I'd recommend wiping the Blackberry via Options->Security and also check to see if there's a handheld software update available for your 8100. It might help with the first issue (sounds like something isn't loaded properly).

To see what OS version you have go to Options/About or from the home screen hold down the ALT key then press EACE.

FYI there are plenty of existing threads that can assist you, I would suggest a search to find some of the info you're looking for.

Besides doing a search you can visit BlackBerryFaq.com as there are many posts there you will find useful. Some of which are:

How to wipe the OS from a BlackBerry device.

How do I wipe using JL CMDER

How do I upgrade the OS on my BlackBerry

There's even a Sticky at the top of the forum that links to a post describing how to perform an OS update.
