The caller can hear me but I am unable to hear the caller on my handset. The mute was not on when the problem was happening and was working fine the day before. If I place the call in speaker mode the caller can hear me & I can hear the caller...any suggestions?

Either the flex cable (cable that runs from the bottom to top of the phone through the hinge) is bad, or sometimes the speaker could have gone bad. If its under warranty, take it in and have it repaired.
P.S. - Mute means the microphone it cut off so the other person cannot hear you while you swear at them <g>. Has nothing to do with the earpiece.
