HTC Touch: Where to buy mini usb to stereo adapter?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Does anyone know where I can find a mini usb to 3.5mm headphone/stereo adapter for the HTC Touch? I can't seem to find it anywhere, and when I do find one people's replies on the topic say that it's not compatible with smart phones.

I found one site, but the shipping to Canada was $33 for a $5.95 product

Not compatible with smartphones? I can tell you 100% for sure that it does work. I had a TYTN (8525) until I bought my Vogue (Touch). The TYTN came with a headset that plugged into the miniusb slot. It had an integrated mic too, so you could use it to make phone calls as well. Rogers carries the TYTN so you should be able to buy a "replacement" headset through a Rogers shop or through a cellular shop like Wireless Wave, FS or SN Traders. No idea on cost.

This place carries them:

Expansys

You can try daydeal.com, free shipping on most cell phone accessories. I have been using them for a few years.

If you are located in Toronto, look at the following link.

http://www.softpocket.ca/en/my_acce.../p16870929.html

The store is located in downtown Toronto and the adapter costs $14.99+ tax. I use the exact same adapter on my HTC S621 and it works great.

............for anyone who uses a Mini-USB -to- 3.5mm adapter. Not to hi-jack the thread, but I am also looking for this adapter and have a companion question;

Can you hear the Touch ring through the standard stereo headset when using this adaptor? I know that the Touch will ring through the wired headset that is included with it (OEM headset) but I want to get an adaptor like EscaBoi and use my Shure headphones, but I still will need the ring through headset to happen.

Anyone?

Thanks,

I bought mines from ebay and it works when I need to use it.

But, I don't have the "headset" icon when the thing is plugged in. So, I don't really know if it rings in the headset with the mini-usb plugged in since it never happened to me.

I bought one from Best Buy, for Moto phones. It does NOT work with the touch. Buyer beware.

That's what I've been seeing on eBay even though it says mini-usb to stereo adapter. I'm afraid of buying these and then finding out it doesn't work and only works with the Motorola.

Shipping with Expansys is quite expensive $14.95 for a tiny cord.

The link isn't working, do you have the major intersection and the store name?

There are several models compatible with the Touch available on Amazon.com. MobilePlanet has a selection as well.

I wish more people would buy from eBay to drive the computation down! I purchased my adapter from eBay for $8 which included shipping and handling from Hong Hong.
