Delete AT&T IMS??

Alright...I'm pissed. I added the "free" video share with OLAM...when I did, it also added the AT&T IMS. Now, it defaults back to IMS from Media net and gives me the old "remote party has ended connection" error constantly. Question: How do I delete the AT&T IMS from my phone?

Thanks,

Nunya

AT&T IMS is required for Video Share. If you delete it, I believe you won't be able to use Video Share anymore. It is on your WM6 ROM by default.

Anyway, to delete this, go to Settings->Connections->GPRS and highlight the AT&T IMS and hit menu->delete.

I'm not the only one with constant 'remote party has ended connection' woes. at least I'm not alone in that misery.

i deleted ims and the problem of remote party was solved for a day after that it switched to automatic connection, so everytime i get an error just go to settings and make sure media net is selected

You can also try disable Video Share service. My haven't switched to automatic or a long time.

I deleted the IMS connection yesterday.. so far so good, though it switches from 3g to edge or back to 3g hourly. I'm just going to give up, call ATT, and complain that I shouldn't be paying for my data package if their towers are so friggin flaky.

How do you disable it?

Settings->Video Share. Turn off the service and reboot the phone.

deleting ATT IMS wasn't enough.. rebooting to see if totally disabling video share does it. This happened on my hacked wm6 rom and the official one.. and is now happening to my roommate that he just upgraded from wm5 to the official wm6 a couple days ago.

I still have reason to believe it's a tower issue here. 3g goes away and comes back a few times every day.

I have only gone through the Settings menu a million times...still never noticed it! Thanks!

I have turned off video share as well but it still switches to IMS in the proxy? Why?

Me too, every day in the morning. I have video share turned off. HELP.

Just delete "AT&T IMS" and get over with it. The phone will have nothing to switch over to. If you decide to use Video Share later on, it is very simple to add it back:

(1) Create a new GPRS connection and name it AT&T IMS
(2) In the connects to box, select Internet.
(3) In the APN box, put in ims.cingular
(4) Leave rest of fields blank or default.

I do notice if you use ActiveSync connection to the desktop. From time to time, your connection will switch to 'Automatic' even after it is disconnected (it is normal for it shows up as 'Automatic' during ActiveSync connection with Desktop).
