How can I sync with 2 different PC's?

I use my iPhone "plugged in" while at home and at work.

In the past using Win Mobile and Blackberry phones, I did this without issue. Any changes made at work would be changed at home automatically when I plugged in at night........also same thing in reverse.

I want to be able to do the same thing with this phone but, so far, it tells me that it is "sync'd with another PC" and do I want to "erase and sync to this PC". Well, NO, I want to sync to both.

How can I do it?

you were able to do this with other devices because their desktop software allowed for multiple profiles without overwriting data. It doesnt look like itunes supports this at all which is unfortunate.

I does allow you to sync outlook information, it will ask if you want to merge your information... However, music/videos and such cannot be sync'd to multiple machine unless you jailbreak and install SwapTunes.

I want to be able to sync both Calendar and Contacts at work and at home. That way I don't have to type in the additions and changes but one time on one computer. That has worked with the Blackberry's and Win Mobile phones.

It does work that way with the Blackberry sync and WM Active Sync but it does not with Apple and the iphone. You can use the merge function as SimTech mentioned but that feature or method is not that good at doing what you want and can result in conflicts and duplicate entries each time you sync. I used that method for a few months and gave up.

What I do now is use my Treo to sync with my work MS exchange server and I also sync the Treo to my home computer (a mac) with Missing Sync. I only sync calendar, bookmarks, and contacts under Missing Sync. Missing Sync is working well for me at this point. I then just sync my iPhone with my home computer.

While this means having to use two devices to accomplish this, until a 3rd party solution comes along or Active Sync is licensed from MS by Apple for the iPhone, it is the best solution I've found and I rarely have any issues (e.g. dup contacts, etc). I carry the iPhone as my primary device and the Treo only serves to keep my work and home computer synced.

I sync mine at work and home and do not have any conflict issues with Contact or Calender items. One thing that I did was, at my work, I wiped out my outlook information and let it copy everything from my phone. That way my home computer and work were exactly the same. Now, merging does not create any conflict issues.

I've done the same exact thing between my Mac and my XP laptop, wiped the laptop's outlook info off then merged info at a sync. Worked perfectly.

I never started from a clean slate as you guys mentioned. If merge works better that way than my earlier experience, I can get back to using just one device to stay synced. Thanks for the tip.
