I upgraded last Dec(07) and because i did not use my sim card my upgrade phone date will not reset.

We are sorry, but we cannot determine your upgrade eligibility for a discounted handset at this time. If you have recently upgraded your phone, please follow the instructions sent with the device to use the new SIM card and accept the terms and conditions. Click here to check on the status of a pending order.

I dont want to use the new sim because ill lose my contacts.

what to do?

thanks-

FWIW, I never use the new sims that they send me; just pop my old one in. What I find is that over time, they just adjust your account to reflect the new contract and we all go on our merry way.

You can copy your contacts from the SIM card to the old phone's internal memory and from there to the new SIM card. Come up with a better reason than that.

thanks however that is the reason. some of these phones are a pain to copy contacts. how many times have i got double contacts-

many.

so take them both to your local ATT COR store and have them use the cellbrite to transfer the contacts. Thats pretty weird reason NOT to use the now sim

What you really want to do is to upgrade without it counting. How many people are concerned about upgrading less than two months after a previous upgrade? Check with your employer and make sure that you are not violating its rules about a company perquisite. In some Federal agencies, it is a firing offense to abuse the upgrade privilege.

WHAT phones are a pain to copy? Almost every single model has an option to copy ALL contacts within a few button selections. As mentioned above, copy contacts to phone, insert your new SIM, and copy contacts from phone to SIM. Even if your SIM is full, it should only take a minute or two.

sorry but in the past iv screwed it up and ended up with double contacts on the phone.

I have similar question.

If you call to accept the term and agreement will that extend the contract 2 more years?

This happens if you go from the phone's internal memory to a SIM card. Copying from the SIM card to internal memory should make internal memory just like the SIM card. With a 3G SIM and Phone, you can get multiple phones numbers and an email address under a single contact name. You will find that contacts stored in internal memory offer more versatility. You can assign ringtones, photo IDs, voice dialing and caller groups. You can use your old SIM card as a backup for storing contacts in case your phone fails. Periodically up date the SIM card when you ad or remove contacts from the phone's internal memory.

Your phone was showing you the contact in both places. Some phones allow you show only SIM card contacts or internal memory contacts.
